Update 2: We've been tipped that Apple may now be blocking third-party retailers from taking pre-orders altogether tomorrow. RadioShack already changed its story on us, and now Best Buy locations have started doing the same, telling us that they definitely won't be taking pre-orders tomorrow but may be by the end of the week. Bottom line -- hit up Apple's website in the morning.

If they are truely cockblocking bestbuy/radioshack now....... so you buy off their congested website come morning, thats pretty fucked up. I don't get it....... they get their money either way -.-

You'll also be able to pre-order in AT&T stores tomorrow, but as far as we can tell, this is going to be a pretty unsavory option -- you'll be required to have your credit card authorized for the full amount upfront, and according to the locations we contacted, you won't even be guaranteed availability on launch day; instead, you'll need to wait until the 25th for some bizarre reason. AT&T's website seems to be a better option, with June 24 delivery available to both consumer and business customers. The carrier won't disclose to us what time pre-orders will start, so keep an eye out.

I'm seeing a lot of people calling apple, At&t, and best buy. All of which have confirmed the white being available. I've yet to read of one person calling and subsequently confirming a black-only release.

When do I get it: On the 24th, at the Apple Store at which you reserved it, or shipped to your house or business.
When do I pay: On the 24th when you pick it up

AT&T

When and where do I order: At AT&T's site or In-store at any iPhone-selling AT&T retail location starting tomorrow at opening
When do I get it: on the 24th, at that AT&T location or shipped to your home or business (it'll arrive on the 24th).
When do I pay: In full tomorrow when you pre-order

Best Buy

When and where do I order: In-store at any Best Buy location starting tomorrow at opening
When do I get it: On the 24th, during an appointment they'll call you to set up a few days before
When do I pay $50 tomorrow, which goes to a gift card redeemable toward the full price paid on the 24th.

RadioShack

When and where do I order: In-store at any RadioShack location starting tomorrow morning
When do I get it: In that store on the 24th
When do I pay: $50 down payment tomorrow, the rest on the 24th

There was a rumor floating around........ that apple in store reps, could tell you to order it online.

I highly doubt that, but you never know.......


as for picking pre-order up at 2 pm...... I don't see why not, but i'm the one who is always worried about some asshole store employee selling to a friend who doesn't have a pre-order.

Probably just phone number, and password to the account should be enough.

You should be able to pre-order a phone without a upgrade........ I believe if you do it through At&t or apple the preorder price is the price of the phone. So if you can get it for $499, your pre-order price is $499.

nope she has to be with you, Boyfriend wanted to get my the new 3gs when it came out but had to have me with to show ID if shes on her own account or is head of account

Apparently, AT&T.com pre-orders go live at 12am PST, but I don't really care to pre order through AT&T.com, but I may do it anyway.
