    There is no guarentee you will get a iphone if you decide to pick it up in store. It says your "reservation" lasts all day, and you can go in anytime on the 24th to get assistance on setting up your new iphone 1 on 1........ but the fine print says iphones are a first come first serve basis. So if 5000 people "reserve" at a apple store with only 1000 iphones coming in....... you better get there 2-3 hours before stores open!

    Im starting to think pre-ordering is going to be a bigger pita then waiting in line for like an hr a week after release (and then I can at least get white). Been trying for over an hr,and i cant get past the screen that asks u to input phone number, zip code & SSN

    Yeah.. I just came back from the ATT store.. Giant lines.. The entire systems are backed up and fucked. There was absolutely no point in going there. If you preorder it they just ship it to your house. You can't even pick it up at the store. So it's no different than just ordering it yourself at home.

    I went in to preorder it. Gave them all of my information or whatever and then their system froze. They said that it upgraded.. But it froze and wouldn't work. So they took my credit card info and said that they would call me later to place the order. So I have to wait for it to get mailed to my house.. and I probably won't even get it on the first day now. It's pretty fucking retarded.. Kinda livid.. haha

    Picking it up at a store seems like a total waste of time since its on a first come first serve basis.

    I wanted the white but I was just kinda convinced from 4 people to just get black. I like the white to be different, I got a white 3G because everyone had a black. Now my partner @ work tells me that white is more feminine lol, then my sister and 2 friends who know the dilemma (being, get black on 24th, or wait for white) all said to just get the black.

    Phone is going to be in a cover, or case, or otterbox anyway. Might as well get whatever I can get soonest.

    Did anyone other than me successfully order through the apple website? If so, have you gotten a confirmation e-mail? They've pre-auth'd the money from my account and it's showing up through order status, so I'm assuming I'm good. It just said they'd send a confirmation e-mail, and I've yet to get it.

    i didn't order through apple's site, just at&t's. I haven't gotten a confirmation email either, but it's in my order status page

    I just checked AT&T after they were down for "maintenance", I still don't see the 4 listed at all for my upgrade options, fml

    Earlier in the day when I went into the phone upgrade area in my account on the AT&T site it would just say there was a problem and to call if it was a non-iPhone upgrade. Now I get this message just trying to log in to my account:
    "The server you're attempting to contact is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. We apologize for the inconvenience"

    I've had no luck through the Apple store either. I put in my phone number, billing zip code, and last four of my SSN to no avail. Hangs on the "Please wait while we access your AT&T account information." page, and then eventually says it's unavailable.
