I called AT&T and they said that the Unlimited plan with 1500 texts was only for the original iPhone, and that while I could keep the unlimited plan when upgrading, I'd have to get a separate text message plan.

I know one thing, I'm not calling AT&T for a damn thing until I have my phone in hand. I'm taking no chances of an order getting cancelled. It isn't like the reps know a god damn thing about what's going on right now anyway. Whenever I ordered from apple though, I didn't select a voice or data plan, I assume the existing plan will stay in tact though, especially since I have 3 phones on it. I guess when the phone comes in and I try to activate it, it'll either work, or it won't. If it doesn't, I'll take it to a store or something, AFTER I have it delivered.

Reservations are given first priority on store allocations. There is a good chance that since you reserved it now that your phone will be avail for pickup on the 24th.

Delivery date from Apple is now July 14th. I'll probably try Best Buy when I get home from the beach, else wait at Wal-Mart on the 24th.

Haven't pre-ordered yet, waiting a few days so I don't get lagged out when I go to pre-order it, probably from AT&T for in-store pickup to be sure the plan and activation get worked out correctly.

I'm also not going to bother picking it up on the 24th, I'll probably wait a few days after so I don't have a huge line at the store.

Only reason I plan to pre-order at all, instead of just going in and buying one off the shelf, is so I don't have to wait for the 2nd shipment to get one.

Guy called me from the AT&T store to say the dates the phone are coming are anywhere between the 25th and the 5th. I had bought it around noon PST so I'm guessing it was something to do with the order not being input until this morning.

Glad I stuck with it at 3am this morning and got the order through on apple's website. Mine still says that it'll be delivered on the 24th.

where are you seeing your ship date? i went to my Order Status page on wireless.att.com, and all 3 things "Wireless Sim, Apple IPH 4 16GB BLK PHONE, and FREIGHT" all have nothing inside the "Ship Date" column

My bank shows pre-authorizations. Apple sent a $1.00 pre auth, and a preauth for the $211. THey haven't actually charged it. If anyone has paid for gas at a pump, it's similar where they'll actually only charge $1 initially and charge the full amount later.
