Honestly the problem with AT&T's coverage is that it's inconsistent. Sure, it's faster in some places, but overall its too spotty, and AT&T installed its new equipment on a shitty backbone.

Verizon on the other hand has a much more stable and reliable network, albeit a tad slower, but it's on a better backbone.

i toyed with it a bit and it seems fairly legit.

edit: and as far as the data plan goes and what GRT was asking, once june 7th comes out, there will no longer be the $30 plan. if you upgrade between now and then and get an iphone with the $30 unlimited you can keep it, but you will not be able to tether legally with the iphone because tethering will definitely require the $25 2GB plan to be on the account so they can tack on another $20 for the same amount of data but tethering allowance.

You can order it online, about a month later.

It isnt about them being dicks, it's about the amount they can make at any given time. They just happen to sell ALL of them the day they go on sell lol.

I'm trying to understand this new data plans.........I have a 3gs, but upgrading to the 4g when it comes out. I will keep my unlimited data for $30/month right, and not get forced to those 200mb/2gb plans?

Getting it day one, that A4 processor (among all the new additions) is too sexy not to have. My original first gen iPhone is also starting to show it's age. Getting a $112 trade-in value for it at the time of purchase, which is about as much as I'll get for it anywhere else.

My understanding is that as long as the unlimited plan is on your account before June 7th, you can keep it. If you ever remove it, you're done. Which is why I've got to get an IMEI or whatever, so I can add it back before buying my new iPhone.
