Netflix app is out today... Nice quality for streaming over 3G but with 3 bars I'm constantly buffering every 5 seconds.

soooooo I went to apple store today because I was having problems with my 3GS

long story short they gave me a new phone but it has 4.0.2
i lost my jailbreak
is there ANY way right now to jailbreak a 4.0.2 3GS or downgrade back to 4.0.1?

Nope. The entire purpose of 4.0.2 was to prevent the jailbreak. Currently only the 3G can be jailbroken on 4.0.2 using redsn0w. You will have to wait for 4.1

Hate to further crush your spirit.....but the dev team has said they will not be doing a updated jailbreak until 4.1 comes out.

However it can't be that far away, since they are in phase 3 of 4 of the beta?

Retarded question: Trying to jailbreak a friend's iphone using jailbreakme, only thing is that he's on version 3.0. I downloaded the 3.1.2 firmware, how I upgrade to that?

open itunes, plug in phone(durrr), look for the restore option and shift+click it and choose the firmware update that you downloaded. google 3.1.2 iphone firmware and you'll be good to go.
