Ok, that's cool but I don't need to be able to talk with my ls members or read what they do when I'm not logged in.
However, this would be absolutely awesome if I could watch jeuno and aht urgan shouts while offline. Is it possible ?

Absolutely, however you can only monitor one zone at a time unless you run on multiple characters. For Whitegate, I'd afk the character somewhere in the main plaza to receive the most shouts. On this page I explain how to customize the logging CTBctb Customization
What you'd need to do is edit the "grep -e 50ff60" and remove 50ff60 (LS chat) for a07060 (shouts).
It also works great for tracking Mog Tablet notices if you use 404040
You can combine codes easily, so to monitor only Shouts and Tablets you'd use grep -e a07060 -e 404040
If you wanted to park a guy somewhere to monitor just for deaths, you could use the code 686840 - this is great way to catch a ToD.
A one-way (no posting from web) install of CTBctb would mean you can skip a good chunk of the install process, I will edit the wiki for that.
[edit: updated wiki for one-way, thanks]
We used something like this in Ultima for a long time and never had any problems with GMs or anything. We parked the mule in a past city and used it as a campaign announcer as well. Aa and Coice might be willing to make it public since it's been decomm'd. I can ask if anyone is interested.
Maybe you can use CTBctb to save Crimson Tooth Brush from being bought out by evil bankers who want to turn it into a shopping mall!
Probably not though.
It is possible; but our version was tightly integrated to our forum software, which was vBulletin 3.7/3.8 back then. We used the user permissions system tied into vBulletin to allow approved users to access the web -> ffxi feature. Regular forum users could access the Campaign screen freely. (You can see the wrapped screens from vb in our screen shots)
The campaign logger worked well, always knew what was coming from the mule in Windurst Past. (Yeah, that was fun.. moving a level 1 toon out there.)
There were two applications created, 1 for the mule PC and then there was a second app, which each user could use on their PC and use the "MyFFXI" section of the chat screen to use their character from any internet enabled web browser. (Mainly for /tells, seeing who bought something in your bazaar, etc.)
Well, anyway... Their chat system isn't the same as ours, but the functional goal is the same. The only maintenance piece for us was updating the memloc information after it was changed on various FFXI updates.
One last note, we used MySQL to store the chatlines and included a archive search function for LS leaders and other admins to search through for various information said in Linkshell chat. When a user loaded the chat screen, the previous 500 lines or so would load so that you could see what was discussed during that time frame.
Cheers.
So yeah Kriz I remembered how great this program was and stumbled across this thread thx :D. But yeah it looks like everything works still minus logmod ><, it used a program vanahelper which is outdated and will not be brought back from the sounds of it. Do you think it would be possible to be able to still use this without that in some other way?
Just remember how nice it was and helpful for when people busy. Hopen you can help me out.
Thanks,
Frey
Edit: Whoa necro
Gonna lock this 'cause it's going to confuse people. I don't think Kriz posts on the forum anymore, but you could try to PM him. Other suggestion would be to look into Stan's chat program via guildwork.com
