Pretty enjoyable. My only nostalgia gripe was that Slithe didn't end any sentences with his trademark "yes?". I like anything that adds a little character and I think it would've fit in fine in the new series.

Got to admit, I was surprised by how great this premiere was. Only real complaint I have is something just seems "off" with Lion-o's design.

I spent 20 minutes trying to mentally match him up with Final Fantasy characters until I realized he reminds me of the red-spiked-hair Elvaan from FFXI. The hair looks wrong on him, too much anime influence for my taste.

However, I had recorded the premier while I was out of town, and watched it late last night. Fucking loved it. Great introduction to the series.

They really turned Tigra into an ass. It's the kind of unapologetic asshattery that you would expect from a constant antagonist, not someone who should be a friend and ally. It'll be interesting to see where it goes, but I'm not identifying with Tigra at all.

I can see it working, honestly. Figure growing up the older son, seemingly superior to the younger in most all ways, but not in line for the throne for whatever reason we don't know. Basically, he's got some growing up of his own to do, and the things that went down can hopefully steer him toward that. I still expect some tension from time to time, though.

The way it was said is that Tigra did not inherit the bloodline. I took that as him not having the "Lion" gene like the father had. Can also mean alot of things like, adopted, different mothers etc etc.

Is this basically a sequel set like a 1000 years later and we just coincidentally have people who look like the original Thundercats? That's basically what I got from the talk of the original king that settled Thundara and defeated and sealed away Mumra...

I took it to be a new story that was just using the same characters, places, etc. Seems like any one of many Transformers storylines.

Not they were not related but then again in the original, it was mostly Lion/o screen time and everyone else except maybe Panthro, was in mostly to give the team numbers, seems this time aroung they are giving everyone a bit more of spotlight.
