Divorce it all depends as well, my current girlfriend would be a somewhat prime example woman don't always make out in divorce.
She divorced a lawyer, who makes about 300-400k/year. They have 2 children, and end result of the divorce was she would receive 2k/week for child support....... and she gets the house for a year, while he pays the mortage on it still. After the year has passed the house is sold and he keeps the money from the sale. Once the children hit the age of 18, child support stops and then she gets nothing pretty much.
So woman don't always make out in divorce
So your worst case scenario is she "only" gets 104k a year from her ex for doing jack?(or more accurately, for doing something she'd have to anyways, not let the children starve to death).
Must be so hard to be her.
I guess when I think about it, that's not even a sarcastic comment, he got off pretty good... fact that 104k a year is "pretty good" is why the whole system is stupid as fuck.
She made out, just not as well as other women.
Well, there are other things that go with this as well......... that 104k/year really turns out to around 30k/yr for her. Happens when the person your married to, doesn't pay taxes for a few years. IRS goes after both if filed jointly......
Not to mention no option to purchase the house/continue paying the mortage on the house she is living in.........
Or that she would have no money once the kids hit a certain age, but any type of savings would be dried up due to IRS issues on his part.
I'd still say she was fucked
Theres alot going into it, she isnt just getting a lump sum of money a year. Has to work like everyone else to survive, so no she isnt doing jack.
Just wanted to point out the general stereotype of woman always getting 50%+ off of guys when divorce happens, isnt actually true.
