btw, I just want to mention that nothing in the game makes you want to fight parties of monsters at the same time rather than just 1 by 1 XI style.

they said they wanted to make it like groups of players vs groups of monsters but I just don't see that happening

If all the mages spells are aoe and shit it'd probably be faster to bunch em all up and blow em the fuck up. Otherwise it does not look like they nailed it at all.

That'd be no different than pulling mobs and having mages do thundaga and shit in XI... and it won't work well in XIV for the same reasons it doesn't work well in XI unless they change the damage calculations on the spells and make the way hate is generated different.
