i thought he rented a room out of the house but honestly it was my 8th grade graduation the night the white bronco went flying down the highway and i think it's funny that i immediately remember that, but i can't remember 95% of my elementary school teachers' names.

this holloway/etc case has intrigued me from the beginning, as most murder things do, i understand it's a fucked up part of the culture that most people are interested in it, and this fucking prick fleeing to chile has done nothing but make me pay attention more. i honestly hope he clears up the first case a bit now that he's apparently fucked, and i'm amazed at how fucking stupid he is.

I hate to sound cold but there's nothing sensational about a murder happening in L.A. unless a celebrity is involved or maybe if it's white cops killing a black guy. on the other hand, a privileged world-traveling playboy getting away with murder only to fuck up and get caught the second time, yeah, that's going to catch people's attention.

there are a lot of elements that make something newsworthy, and whether they're right or wrong, it's how the media works. and while it would be valiant to try and report on every single murder that happens, there just isn't enough space on the airwaves, especially not when you're giving every story this much attention.

not saying this story deserves it, but it fits the profile of a newsworthy story from the media's perspective. and the media, as disgusting as they can be, are only giving the public what it wants.

The news this morning said that his father was a judge, so he knows the legal system well, enabling him to get away with the first one for this time. Also of note they mentioned he was extorting the mother of Holloway for a sum of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, of which she had already paid fifteen thousand for the whereabouts of her daughters body.

Sickening how arrogant this guy is, same murder twice, extorting the mother of the first victim with false information about her daughters murder, still probably thinks he'll get off scott free.

Umm.. that's EXACTLY why. When's the last time you saw any kid other than a white blonde girl on the news for getting kidnapped?

You know how many people get kidnapped daily? Thousands, if not more, but the "harsh reality" of the world doesn't start tugging at the white masses (and powerful media-controlling executives)'s heart-strings until its a white chick that they know people will watch and feel sympanthy for.

Extra points if the kidnapper turns out to be some "savage" black guy or some "twisted" foreigner.

Its the way of the world - if its not your own "kind", it isn't worth worrying about or even being informed of.

I don't see it in that article, but the confession according to msnbc he made was something like "She touched my computer and found out about the Natalee Holloway case, which led us to get in a fight and I snapped her neck. She shouldn't have broke my privacy".

Is that really the best he could come up with? I'd be amazed if that actually helps him get a lesser penalty for confessing.

I don't think it matters. if that confession wasn't enough, won't they be able to use that computer as evidence? he was never tried for Natalee's murder so it's not like it's double jeopardy. I don't know how the legal aspects of that would work, if evidence obtained in one investigation can be used in another, but I would think they'll work something out.

I think they would have already had access to his computer if he was actually arrested. I guess if he said something after being let go, but I'm sure he was careful not to do it since it was fairly high profile.

There I said it. So many people are killed day in day out, Black, White, Hispanic, Chinese, etc., this media obsession with one individual only helps to divert logistical resources in the police from other just as valid cases onto a single murder.
