Ha, the music isn't mine. It's from a guy I've been reading up on through Tumblr. He just wanted feedback so I figured I'd ask what people thought.

I'm with Derock here, there's no life in any of this.

Pink Floyd is 'basic' in terms of the beatline, but it has life, energy. The music moves you. This is basically machined, robotic.

Horrible snare sound. Get some better samples.

First song reminds me of a support band that played what they thought was jazz fusion, but was really just Bb minor with a drum machine for a whole freakin' hour. My keyboard player and I noted that liking jazz made it sound worse. Understanding jazz as a musician made it sound horrible.

The clicking sound in the background of the second track gets on my tits. The beat's better on this one, but still suffers from terrible snare. Might do with vocals being higher in the mix, because I can't understand what he's saying over the clicking. Then again I'm not street so I dunno.

Third: return of the awful smooth-jazz saxophones. The snap-change with the record-change effect at :40 has potential, but the Chipmunks vocal acrobatics are rubbish. It seems to get confused around 2:00: the transition between sections could be cleaner, or at least better executed.

Fourth has an even worse side-stick sample than the snare sound on the rest. Is this just plain MIDI noises? Seriously, get some proper samples or a software drum machine: Toontrack EZDrummer would be my recommendation. That aside, this track's pretty chill. Hasn't been ruined by cheesy saxophones or insufferable vocals. Lots of potential here. I could see smoking something to this.

Track five. "Nigga." Nigga please. It sounds like the cast of Sesame Street took shrooms and threw up all over a xylophone with assistance from Phil Collins. And not in a good way. The piano bit around 1:35 is pretty cool, but the vocals and xylophone faggotry spoil it.

Número seis. Sounds like Zappa. Not as good as Zappa, but who is, really? Twinges of the Brecker Brothers in there as well. Enjoying this and number five the most so far. Weird drum fill at like 2:20 is cool.

Sieben! Feels like it should have changed. That's like one chord, an arpeggio and a wah-pedal flourish for three solid minutes. Song's not going anywhere, though it is a decent beat and all. Just like, change chords or something. Please?

八号... yeah, 's'alright. Feels like the beat should change quite early in. Sounds too much like an intro for its entire duration. If the drums went double-time, or at least busier with some Amen break-style snare flams, it'd be a decent two and a half minutes.

Final track reminds me a bit of Weather Report. It's got a chord progression at least. Oh christ, that drum fill at :28 is just horrible. Seriously. Better drum machine. Get one. Oh fuck, it's back at :50... The "hey"s and the keyboard riffs are pleasant enough, but after a minute it doesn't quite live up to the promise of the first thirty seconds. It was so nice until the horrible drum fill. The chord progression and melody starting at 1:39 after the horrible fill are quite nice, and the '80s synth in the last few seconds is bizarrely tasteful.

5, 6, and 9 are pretty good. Drum sound is horrible, and a few of the tracks are just too repetitive. Repetition's not a priori a bad thing, but when you start to get bored it's a problem.

Is he intending for people to spit over this? If so, the repetitiveness can be understood, but I think Obev hits most points well about the sampling and MIDI. I enjoy beats like 80% of the time though so I'm not as picky, decent work. It's good base materiel if anything
