    Windows 7 Firefox Security

All of the sudden whenever I try to open Firefox, Windows always asks me if I want to allow Firefox to make changes to the computer. It's never done this before and it's kind of annoying clicking "Yes" every time to let Firefox open.

    Anyway around this?

Check if firefox is in "run as administrator" mode.

It's probably trying to update itself to the latest version (3.6.4 came out less than a week ago) and failing. When it tries to update, it does request admin rights.

Reinstalling it using the latest version should fix it, though it may be useful to investigate what is causing the update to fail, if that is the cause.

Solution: Disable UAC, enable Windows Essentials Security, and you are done!

So will this keep me from having to run nearly half my stuff in Administrator to make Skype work properly? As it is now, if I watch a full screen stream in firefox or have a game fullscreened and the programs aren't running in Administrator, Skype will have continual cut-outs and people are unable to hear me completely. If i run them in administrator, no problems at all. I have no clue why this is... and i dont really mind it other than its a bit tedious to have to run as admin and then accept the dialog box before running these programs.

Sounds like your computer has some deep issues, and it may be worth flat out reinstalling windows.

Firefox is in Admin mode and it's still doing this. I really don't want to install Windows again
