I assume the story will have to deal with
    Spoiler: show
"the beast", what with the whole first game being essentially your training and preparation to fight it

If its cole then this should be pretty hot if they continue the story.

If its not cole then this should be pretty hot if its pretty original but still keeps most of the best games features.

All I could ask for is more "Passive abilities" like a lot of the sandbox shooter games. I didn't like the idea that you just go for damage reduction regardless of your affinity. It would be nice to see some variety. Or hell just sprawl out the customization even more. I know its not an rpg but still lol could be fun if it was that deep.

In 2009, Sucker Punch Productions released Infamous, a super-powered sandbox game that was a drastic departure from the studio's well-known Sly Cooper franchise. Venturing into new territory paid off for Sucker Punch; the PS3-exclusive Infamous has sold nearly 2 million copies, providing a combination of mobility and electrical powers that makes gamers feel like a true superhero. For Infamous 2, the team hopes to raise the bar even higher. A new look for hero Cole MacGrath is just the first step; a new city, new powers, and a powerful new foe await you in Infamous 2, and you can read all about it our exclusive 10-page story.
So yes it is Cole and i personally can't wait for more info and maybe a trailer at e3.

inb4 alternate universe and they plan to be like prince of persia and just make a bunch of games based on 1 idea and 1 character, but no general correlation between them.

The first game's character models all looked half-retarded and like they haven't slept in months, so if Sucker Punch has figured out a way of improving that, it'd be great. It's probably a bit early to over-speculate based on a single piece of art that isn't even an in-game screenshot.

I think there were a few rough spots in the first game in terms of gameplay that kept it from being really fantastic (although it was still a great game), I'm more interested to see if Sucker Punch irons these out than anything. IMO one of the biggest problems with the first game was that enemies were too powerful, and even fully upgraded you never really got strong enough in comparison to feel like a superpowered badass.

I liked the look, made the world more dreary. I mean, come on, the city got nuked, reapers are everywhere, and it's hard to feel safe. I'd be stretched for sleep myself.

What really killed the look of the NPC models was the atrocious rendering resolution of the self-shadowing during inengine cutscenes.

I didn't really think the ending was good. Time travel is tough to pull off in any story, and in Infamous it felt so much like an afterthought. 95% of the story had nothing to do with it and then you're hit with "THIS IS ALL JUST A TEST!" It's sort of like a dream ending.

And then there was all that crazy Sons of the Patriots stuff that didn't mesh well with the time-travel ending too.

btw, agreeing with Atre that enemies were too resilient by the time you were fully powered up. I felt the first island had the best balance in that regard... second was OK too; by the time you were ready to leave it, you were pretty solid at taking out Dustmen. Third island though, holy shit, just took a lot of damage to take guys down.

I liked the ending, but I definitely see what you mean. I just thought the game was so much fun that I probably cut the ending some extra slack.

The enemies had super eagle vision and the building climbing was too slow. Fix it.

edit: from the looks of it, they made Cole more attractive so i'm cool with that

i gave the ending some slack because of the whole comic book theme it had going, and after getting everything i felt like they need to continue this w/o fucking up the core attributes like stunts, cause those were fun as hell for some reason. if they fine tune all the fun aspects of this game i will be very happy

tbh if it meant being faster/stronger I'd even accept some bullshit about the energy supercharging his muscles or some such

    I forgot about that.

*Bang* "Ouch! Wtf..." *looks for them* some bitch from the other side of the island just sniped you with a machine gun. That does need some tweaking.

oh god, yeah the 3rd island bad guys were fucking amazing shots.

I actually didn't mind the climbing speed because it kinda kept a "realistic" feel (or at least that Cole wasn't Superman... just a guy with wolverine-healing and some energy powers).

Made the difference between infamous and prototype, for me.

Only thing I'd want them to do to the climbing is AC2 it up and just have a 'hold button + direction to scale up nearby scalable spots" rather than jabbing X all the way up watching Cole hop up like an idiot to the next ledge.

Oh, that and holding the jump button while falling to prevent Cole magnetically attaching to anything nearby so you can land on the ground uninterrupted. Those were the only qualms I had with the controls really outside of lack of indepedently inverting axis for the behind-the-back view when aiming, but I adjusted to that.

to clarify I meant more heightened speed and strength, nothing near superman level, but enough to feel a bit more badass

Infamous was slower than Prototype but I enjoyed it more because of that as the game felt way more refined than Prototype. Prototype was just constant nonstop action with no room to breath. Thats not to say I didn't like it, but I enjoyed Infamous' pacing more.

Though I wouldn't mind a little faster climbing.
