hmm ya iono either when I scrubbed it I would keep it tipped over the sink, but just naturally grease would start to slide everywhere. I like a clean grill. XD

Here's an example, but I know they sell them in stores like Target Walmart etc

They do have their own grills in the pool areas, but that one is semi far from my apartment, so if I have lots of people that's one thing, but for everyday stuff not so much.

It's also pretty standard I think in Cali considering how easily fires spread around here.

I agree. But if you're desperate for BBQ. Try getting a Grill Pan that you can put stove top.

Just make sure it's well oiled and very hot before tossing meat onto the pan.

Non removable plates was the reason our little George got chucked in the bin when we moved house - pain in the arse to clean.

I love my George Foreman grill. I don't know what the exact model number is so I can't link to it, but I have never had trouble with it before. I have also never had trouble with meat being dry, as long as you marinate long enough, and don't over cook it. Just have to remember that the meat will still cook itself when its off of the grill because of how hot it is.

My grill also has removable plates, and I must say that I will never get another one that does not. They are such a blessing.

You ever eat a pan fried steak? Then immediately taste the deliciousness of a grilled steak?

Grill flavor comes from charcoal, you're not gonna get that from anything indoors

I do have that model actually. Since dinner for one is the story of my life, it isn't a problem for me, but if you are cooking for more than two people it might be too small. They might make a family size version though...

As far as grilling goes, it works fine on chicken and thinner cuts of meat, I've never tried it on anything thicker than about 1" though. Like some other posters said, it might overcook food and dry it out (especially if you are working with thinner cuts), but once you get the hang of it you get some juicy delicious stuff. For example, when I prepare chicken on it, I butterfly breasts, marinate for ~30 minutes, then throw them on the grill for 6 minutes then viola, deliciously juicy chicken

I recieved the next grilleration George Foreman grill about 2 years ago, it has the removable plates. It works well, and cleans up easy, but its also HUGE. I don't really have a lot of counter space in my apt so I rarely use it.

If you have the space for the grill, and don't do much other cooking then its great, but otherwise I'd get a grillpan because they are much smaller.

question for those that like griddles over the electric grills. How are they on electric stoves? I heard the heat doesn't spread as well on those as a gas stove (we have electric). So that can become a factor in deciding.

I think I am leaning towards the next grilleration grill thing.

sucks you cant BBQ but IMO for cooking steak inside your house, pan fry them real quick to trap the fats and broil them in the oven with a broiler pan. For everything else electric grills do a great job imo.

And for the love of god don't clean your grill with magic eraser... wipe it clean after using and you won't have to deal with any nastyness.
