I believe it's integrated. Kicks in fairly late in the game but before the ending. Pretty sure it's at the end of China city the second time you visit there.

Missing Link is playable on it's own. If you have it attached to your Steam account, you will a separate start-up link for the DLC.
Director's Cut now coming to PC, PS3, & 360 (aka no longer a Wii U exclusive)http://gematsu.com/2013/06/deus-ex-h...box-360-and-pcDeus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal’s “definitive version” of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, will come to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in addition to Wii U, Square Enix has announced.
“After our Director’s Cut announcement we received an overwhelming response from the community asking us to bring this ultimate edition of Human Revolution to other platforms,” said Stephane D’Astous, General Manager of Eidos-Montreal. “We’re thrilled to accommodate that request. We can now say with pleasure, ‘You asked for this!’”
Director’s Cut offers a “full slate” of second screen features for the Wii U GamePad, Microsoft’s SmartGlass, and the PS Vita system that make the touchscreen interface main character Adam Jensen’s primary neural hub enhancement. It will also include the ‘Missing Link’ download content, overhauled boss fights, refined game balance and combat, improved AI, and over eight hours of developer commentary.
This pleases me. I do wish they would come out with a proper sequel though rather than that iOS/Android crap they revealed a few days ago though. DXHR's universe is one of the best I've seen in a long time, although personally I think it would have been better off without theSpoiler: show
Soooo since a director's cut was announced and I never played it before, should I just wait for that to be released now?
yeah most frustrating part of the game for me was investing all my skills into stealth and then being put up against a boss with no stealth options, so he wrecked me. Hope that is one of the things they fixed, I haven't played the dlc yet and would probably buy it just for that and not being forced into a certain play style. I mean its not insurmountable to beat the boss like that, it just takes a fuckton more effort.
No word on whether they'll offer a DLC upgrade path? I got my PS+ copy here, so I don't really see myself paying $40'ish for a tweaked edition.
I just started playing this again for PC (first time was on 360) and for me, this is one of those games I almost get goosebumps playing because the story is so great on top of great graphics and game play. Sure there were definitely some missteps, but for me this is a top tier game of all time.
To answer myself, from the look of things, just the PC Steam release seems to get a discount for previous owners ($10), everyone else has to pony up $30, or $50 for WiiU.
Doesn't seem like that much was changed or added for me to want to pay up over my PS3 copy, so I'll just throw $10 at the DLC content and enjoy the flawed-bosses version. Also, christ this Director's Cut took forever to come out.
