If you are one of the rare 1% that can really play both jobs at acceptable or above average levels, then i feel you have all rights to lot as long as no one else that can put it to better use is up for the lot. IE a main XXX job that comes to most LS events.

I guess the real question would be which person/mule would benefit the LS more.

And if the person uses the mule to fish/camp other things/not bring them to HNM? is it still justifiable to gear them over another member of the ls?

ill put it this way, how I would do it. If you are willing to bring the mule to any and all events that we need said jobs then by all means you can lot. If you pick when to play it then no dont lot shit on it ~_~

Unless a person is being forced to 2box for the LS they shouldn't be rewarded for the extra effort.

Eh, im still not comfortable with letting somebody gear their mule if they already have the item on their main and ppl in the ls still need, thats all im getting at.

This is also true, if the success of a lot of events are based of the people duel boxing they should get lotting rights. If most events they are full and you just duelbox because you want to gear it, no.

So we have 1 person for no reward whatsoever.

The whole basis for the change was due to the low number nature of my shell, and the little extra help making difference here and there. I've boxed dyna for my current shell for about 2 years now, and while the difference is there, it's becoming unrewarding.

Helping backup cure/sleep/spam elegy on BRD for 3 hours every run becomes kinda boring. I also knew a few people in that shell capable of boxing also, so I called for a change. Basically I was asking if gil split amongst the people who can be a bit tiny higher. Not something outrageously high that rivals a real persons share, just something of an incentive.

I have no idea where this argument started. I think this was just made up on the spot in your very second post.

Did it mention anything about mules and mains being able to get the same item? Perhaps you're reading waaaay too deep into something that was meant to start the topic off.

Our LS puts mules behind mains, specifically in the rules stating that mules are only allowed to lot items that no one wants for their mains. For us, it's a matter of fairness in that someone shouldn't get an item twice before another person gets it once. To say that a person who's "more skilled" dualboxing should get it would be the same as saying a person who already has a Adaman hauberk has a right to lot the E.body abj again before people who don't have it just cause they have the -1. Inevitably, less skilled players are going to get good piece of gear (otherwise I would have a noct mail instead of some of the stupid people who have it and melee in Str rings >.> <.<).

    Duelist Chapeau goes to heffer
Dls Chap-1 drops, and heffer wins lot
heffer has 4/5 rdm AF2, barring hat for storage
heffer, presuming you are on a point system, and not a favortism system, is willing to drop more pts than anyone else on duelist chapeau to store it

Is heffer not allowed to lot it because "hes getting two hats"?

Thats why I prefer point system. Theres no cocksucking involved, theres no debate over who should get it...they have more pts, its theirs. Sometimes it leads to retards getting decent/good gear, but they were going to get it at some point.

for my dynamis LS, I made a rule that mules have to be registered to lot items at high tiers, my concern is moving points, nothing more. If someone wants to spend 100 points to put a Duelist Cheapau on their mules, when the next viable lotter can only drop 20...why should they be denied?

I've found out that most of the time, people who bitch and moan about this are fucking moochers who want to get whatever they can for as little they can. In my LS's case, the only people who really had a problem with mules lotting shit at top tier were people who never prio, never top tier, just try to scavenge shit at 3 pts.

I've dualboxed for years, and there is no point in getting preferential treatment for it. Its your choice that your dualboxing to help people about / helping yourself out... unless your linkshell is making you do it then I don't see the reason why you should be getting benefits for it.

However, if its a second character doesn't mean that the other one should automatically be considered a "mule". At least in my situation, my two characters (that I leveled up from scratch) are basically considered one character with 6 different jobs, I just happen to be able to play two of those jobs at once. I'm in a LS with a Main job lotting System so its never been a big deal.

As far as getting the same piece of gear twice (such as dalmatica's and stuff....) I guess its really depends on how your linkshell feels about it. If your linkshell isn't going to have people upset over it I don't see why there would be a problem with it. I have been fortunate enough that 95% of my gear is on one character or another and there has never really been an overlap.

If someone dualboxes well and is basically benefiting the shell like 2 'real' players would, there's no reason not to reward them for it.

Aurara, your argument is paperthin and you've dragged it out for waaaaay too long. Better stop here.

I understand where you're coming from. I used to think that way too. I have plenty of times triboxed a tank, BRD, and TH mule just for gods, so we don't need to waste a slot having a real person go THF. After awhile the depreciation sets in and it was just plain disappointing. "... but nobody is making you box..." Ok, I get that point too. At that time I didn't even asked for one thing in return; I was helping out of pure goodwill. Things changed as time goes on though, I no longer have that mindset. Perhaps I'm too jaded from that experience? I don't know.

And as far as I'm concerned, I never pushed for something like my alt having any priority on relic armor. My dyna shell sells and splits currency via a set of rules. Just want to get people who boxes well a little extra reward via gil, and seeing if that was asking for far too much.

2box players shouldn't get better treatment than normal members i.e. no extra money from gil splits, no extra points for events etc. But if they activly help the LS with their 2nd char theres no reason to not give them equal rights on equip.

A RDM AF2 hat on a 2nd char will be used more than a hat that goes to someone with 3 different jobs. 2nd Chars should be treatet just as 2nd jobs on the same char.

Imo 2box ppl that don't suck actualy have all rights for special treatment as they have lot more work to do. They have to concentrate on different roles, different cast/ja timers and different hp/mp pools at the same time. They have to switch between their chars all the time while other members can watch tv and press a macro or two every few min. They also have to gear that 2nd char which means farming more money/equip, some things like elemental staffs may have to be bought twice.

But the 2boxer chose to do that and there are some benefits (even though they are smaller than ppl think imo), that's why i say to not give them extra gil/points, but equal item rights is the least you can give them for trying to help the ls more than other ppl.

I used to regularly 2 box dynamis but played my main much more than the mule (was mainly there for additional raises and cures) - only ever picked up AF2 that was going to go for mannequin fodder basically that my mule could use (mainly BST AF2). If I'd wanted to gear it properly I would have prob joined a diff dyna shell and made runs on that character - but as it was, I wanted BST relic for him and no one else wanted it so it worked out ok.

I'd get pissed if I lost out on shit because someone was gearing a mule to be honest - met very few people who can genuinely 2 box well without sucking at one or both chars.
