Let me give you the other side to that scenario. You and another guy are in a similar situation except reversed. You have the exact amount of points as the guy that already has the item and you end up missing 1 dynamis due to a family emergency that sets you back 1 point. You're telling me that you wouldn't think your supposed friend saying too bad, so sad I deserve it more wouldn't irk you? Yes all items are just toys and have minor impact overall on what most people can or can't do in this game but if all you care about is increasing your gear level over other people without any concern for them or their situation then it does come off as self centered.
I'd love for anyone in Interlopers who was around when I finally got my AA's and when Genjistar got his AA's to recall exactly what happened..because it sounds so coincidental, you wouldnt believe me.

When I first joined Interlopers, I was a bit hazy to the rules. I showed up late to one run, and wasnt aware I could 'buy back' the point I lost for being late. Runs passed, I was amassing up points saving up for the precious AA's (this is like 2005 fyi), and I had a marginal lead over Genjistar. One weekend, I got a lil angry at kings, and I was suspended for a very stupid search comment, which I still dispute because it contained no profanity, no names, nothing of the sort...but I was suspended, and missed a dynamis durring my suspension. From that one run I missed, I had lost my marginal lead on Genjistar, and was behind him by one point. Two runs later, Xarcabard, AA's drop, and I cant lot because I'm down by one point, one point that had I been fully aware of the rules when I first joined I could have bought back and gone to a lot off, 3 points (while now we work on a 3 point system, at the time it was 1 point per run, but because it was our first successful CoP run, they were given triple pts, fuck yeah!) that I lost because of a fucking suspension, that would have not even made a lot off.

So fuck you, I've been through that shit.

    So, one...more...time:
points = value of worth. Item goes to highest bidder. If highest bidder is an secondary account (I'm not calling it a mule anymore, its clearly not a mule if they're being used to kill shit) or for storage, I dont care, its not my business, because the fact they have more points shows that they've spent more time doing events for the LS with 0 return. That's who I want to get the item.

Or even better, switch servers on your second character and then join another endgame shell on it. Then you can dual-box on two different servers~! Most likely your gonna play a lot shittier like that, but hey if you find an LS that excuses that type of game play then you are golden!

    Hi Noki :D

I also want to point out, theres a grave misconception of what 2box capabilities are. If you have your top DD 2boxing your main sleeper, or the whm in your DDx3 COR BRD WHM party, thats going to fail. Dont put two crucial roles on one person. Anything+blm is maaaaaaad easy to 2box to full efficiency, CTRL+0 assist, CTRL+1-9 nuke, rinse repeat. Reject DD party bard, easy as well. Haste / Refresh / Cure RDM, easy. Put roles like that for 2boxing, and you'll get the most out of it.

It depends on the player. My shell has like a half dozen people who can dualbox, but only 2 are any good at it. A dualbox acceptably filling the role a main character would gets half of any rewards associated, be it a gil split, limbus coins, or lotting credit. In dynamis, limbus, etc.. only the 2 people who are good at it can do so. At something like zerg where all that's needed is SV songs on one char before swapping to the other, all can. I choose who's playing to an acceptable standard and who isn't: an easy way to tell is to send a person dualboxing to a base temenos with minimal safe setup(RDM BRD DD DD). When they lose, you can conclude they're bad at dualboxing and not let it happen again. I'm sure there are countless other ways to tell, but there's no excuse for losing temenos north or east with that setup and it requires enough attention regardless of the job that a poor dual boxer will almost always screw it up.

Aurara is may-ad he doesn't have a second character.

Our Dynamis LS has a unique point system where players have to select a main job for lotting. If someone selects RDM as their main job and receives everything they want, they can switch to another main job and any remaining unspent points are able to be used for non main gear. The player is more then welcome to switch to RDM again and start at 0 main points for a mule. This way they can't just get everything twice before others unless there is no line for RDM gear.

Firstly, I'd like to point out how stupid the OP sounds for saying "people who box", lmfao. Mike Tyson, in your base, lotting all your dorps.

Secondly, a mule should never receive drops over a real person.

I think a decent argument could be made that you are gearing a "person" and not characters. A "person" should get points for being at a camp, or event, not the characters. It's the only real way to prevent abuse. Even if a dual boxer does more work (which is arguable at best), you are going to generally get a negative reaction from the rest of the LS if you reward each character individually.

Generally, that is a distinction that only dual boxers make. There is no distinction for those that do not dual box. It's just a matter of perspective.

The way i see it is, if you can show up to an event, do your fucking job, either on 1 2 3 or 4 chars at a time and not suck at it, and an item drops that one of the chars needs and you always are on it benefitting the linkshell, and playing better then another member who also wants the item then why the fuck not lot it? like lets say for example.. I play SAM on my main but i have RDM hat also, my mule has RDM @75 and is better then the other RDM's cause im not stupid and know how to play RDM.. and lets say we are in deathnamis-xarc, and the other RDM's suck monkeyballs and can't sleep for fucking shit even the ones that have the hat cause they are gimptards... yet i sleep shit NP cause im pro and badass... now lets say RDM hat drops, the people with hat want for storage, cause they feel they are uber and deserve it more cause they have one already, and have been there for yeaaaaars! and some of the people without it want it also, but are the same people who can't sleep for fucking shit, meanwhile my mule also doesn't have one but sleeps like a pro, who should get it, the longtime members who want for storage, the other people who don't have one, or the mule? and its to benefit the linkshell, not the e-peen and we will say the people who want for storage have been there like 3 years, the people without have been for 1-2yrs, and the mule has been there 2-3 but just only recently got RDM to 75, maybe 6 months and does a way better job then the rest even 2boxed, and attends the same events as the rest or more, so who should get the hat?

A mule(second character, it's the same thing) should never receive a drop over another real person. Unless the second real person in question is very new, unreliable or absolutely terrible at everything they do, they should never be shafted for someone's mule.

No matter how good you think you are at playing said mule, it shouldn't matter. No single piece of gear is important enough to lot over someone who deserves it more. Nothing makes or breaks this game by itself.

"Benefiting the linkshell" is also how some players end up with 5-6 relics. It's never as clear as doing what "benefits the LS" most.

but by having 5-6 relics on a single character rather having 5-6 separate relics in the linkshell, it benefits the linkshell to know who is the biggest prick usually.

Did you even read the thread? You seriously see a difference between someone who has 10 jobs on 1 char lotting an item over someone who has 5 melee on 1 and 5 mages on the other?

Fucking hell...was that really 5 years ago? Didn't you quit interlopers after that or something? don't remember

Also on a slightly related note to the thread: I remember back when I first started dynamis. Doing Dyna-Beaucedine. Whm body drops, it goes freelot if I remember right. It was between me and another member. My whm was 74, his was 71. He won the lot >.> I was butthurt about that for a while, but it didn't really matter in the end. I still ended up with the body eventually, made good use of it.

I have been through this situation many, many times before. It never ends well. One of those two characters will always be played more than the other, there is a reason there are two in the first place. Yes, there is a difference.

I also agree with that "people who box" sounds retarded.

I never had a problem with this myself because if I wanted something for my pocket WHM i got it freelot OR spent the points on it. Hell, most of the time's I was at events with my whm with my 'main' character being late glass holder / runner for people who couldn't find their way around area's.

But you think the guy with 10 jobs plays that job a lot more? I think in both cases, unless it's someone's main JOB, not main character, it's going to take a back seat. I actually think the guy with 2 different characters will use a secondary/tertiary job far more than the guy with 10 jobs on 1 character. And this is partly based on the fact I have 10 jobs on 1 character, and 3 jobs on a 2nd, and whenever a bard is needed, I generally just played the 2nd character (because it was the 2nd character's main job). If I had to pick of giving myself an item for my bard, or the mule an item for bard, I'd pick that mule every single time.

Past that, as in my earlier examples, it's still stupid to always say main first. If a main just got a sponsored relic, a dring, 2 pieces of valhalla, and the guy with 2 characters has gotten 1 rdm hat on his main, then a 2nd rdm hat drops and he wants it on his mule, fuck the guy that's already gotten a ton of shit. It's completely and utterly unfair to just give him more.

Really, people should pick 1 or 2 main jobs, not main character, and have priority on that. When it's your 5th job on the same character, it's the same fucking thing as a mule.
