Yeah I pretty much just cut down on beer lottery days![]()
Indeed. Winning a big jackpot in the US must feel terrible when the feds go an ask for 55% of your winnings as soon as you get it.
Besides lotto revenue goes to pay for things like arts funding, schools, community development, and other human services projects. It's certainly not the best use of my money (quite possibly the worst) but at $2.50/week or two, I'm still paying my rent just fine.
Friendly reminder to all Canadians who didn't pick up a ticket yet...biggest lotto I can remember.
$50million draw + 20x$1million draws tomorrow.
Bigger jackpot != better odds
Some people disagree but whatever...
If you win I want a 2% cut :D
You are more likely to win because more winning combinations are chosen. I mean, more likely in only an extremely tiny amount, but still.
Wow, no jackpot winner again O.o
2 runner ups though.
Reasonably sure NOTHING interesting like that has ever happened back home. I don't pay attention to the news much, but my family likes to relay stories to me from Newfoundland all the time... I'd have heard about it in a non-rumor kind of way.
Stupid not going last night though. I won a free play though... maybe I'll get a nice birthday gift and win(birthday is next Friday)
Another friendly reminder.
Tonights draw is going to be fucking massive.
Hopefully am not going to work on Monday.
I wish somebody would win this fucking thing. It gets so busy at my 7-Eleven on Fridays when there is a big jackpot like this, just fucking end it already.
Next week!$50 million Lotto Max jackpot goes unclaimed for 3rd week

TORONTO — No one has the winning ticket for the $50 million jackpot prize in Friday night's Lotto Max draw.
That means the jackpot will be the same for the next draw June 25th.
In addition, next Friday's draw will include an estimated 55 Maxmillion draws for $1 million each.
It's the third week in a row no one has won the jackpot prize.
There were 30 winning tickets for the 45 Maxmillion prizes of $1 million each that were up for grabs in Friday night's draw.
Among the provinces, Ontario had the biggest number of Maxmillion winners — 16, while Quebec had 11.
The odds that anyone had the winning ticket for the jackpot are one in 28 million.
The odds are better, one in 623-thousand, that anyone had the winning ticket for any of the $1 million consolation prizes.
50? That's all?
The California State Lottery (not mega millions, but the single state game) routinely breaks that.
I think? US Lotteries are taxed while Canadian ones aren't.
Dunno on canadian end, but yes the the winnings are taxed in the US, though the jackpots are high enough that even after tax, it still breaks 50.
