FFXI Game for 2

OK so me and my GF were wanting to get into FFXI again. The thing is no stores around here sell FFXI any more. I was thinking of buying the game from eb games via digital download and buying 2 copy's. The copy's are 15 and include all the registration codes (please confirm) It would be cheaper to buy 2 copy's than just torrent and buying the codes from SE, as i remember they were like 9.99 a pop. Can anyone please shed some light on this like how it works. And also if it would be cheaper to buy 2 copy's or torrent and buy codes from SE.

Think you can buy anniversary addition from gamestop online. Only need one disk and you can buy her a content Id. I think that would be much cheaper, wouldn't be the first time I'm wrong though, wb ^^.

Yea its going to be 2 separate accounts, atm only thing one ebgames is 3 newest expansions and the 3 different versions of the ultimate collection (all expansions and add-ons)

I DL'd mine off of steam, $15 for everything- all expansions, sub-expansions, yadda yadda. I don't think it gets better than that

Just watch the counter jump down a few minutes every 13 seconds as it tries to re-evaluate how long it'll take to finish up.

Pretty sure SE's servers still aren't capped on their download rate. I seem to recall them being around 50kb/sec way back in the day. ;/

Yea, but in order to create a content ID you need a cd-key, which means he can't just get 1 copy.

Took me about 5 hours the last time I had to reinstall.

Yeah if I have to reinstall I always just stick it on updating and go to bed - it's bloody painful otherwise.

I keep an external HDD backup of the entire game and then just copy paste it over and reregister the dll files after merging the registry files >.>

Sounds complicated to the non-tech savvy people but it takes all of 10 mins and saves hours of painful downloading.

I do nothing but copy them and it sorts itself out during the version check the first time I run POL and FFXI.

Well that only works if you haven't uninstalled FFXI. If you're doing a clean install POL will not even start if you don't add the needed registry entries and register dll files.

The game also goes on sale on steam from time to time after the last mini came out I just bought the steam package for under 10$ to get all 3 mini's instead of paying 30$ buying them 1 at a time.

Just pointing this out to everyone thats still missing some or all of the mini's as a cheap way to get them all as well as always being able to dl the client off steam for whatever reason.(had HD fail while back and it came in handy)

Didn't really want to make a new thread since its almost related, but I have the steam version of FFXI myself, love it, got it for 11 bucks when it was on sale.

But one problem I am having is I can't find anything in regedit. I want to tweak my graphics some but the usual HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE/PlayOnlineUS/SquareEnix/FinalFantasyXI is not there.

I am using 7 and have searched everything in Steam and Steamapps.

Any help would be wonderful~~
