You could probably get a free driver check program that will find what you need automatically. Don't know any good ones offhand but they do exist.

Did you open the case and play with wires?

    Open device manager (devmgmt.msc)

Look for any unrecognized devices like this
    http://www.networksteve.com/images/U...2020100113.jpg

Right click on it and go to update driver and chances are it will automatically find the drivers for you

If that doesnt work you might want to try just downloading them from the alien ware drivers page
    http://support.alienware.com/Support...downloads.aspx

If your laptop isnt extremely old chances are the support would've also been merged with Dell's, which is really where I would recommend going first anyway.
    Dell Drivers and Downloads

I would really recommend that after a fresh install that you want to update/install ALL of the latest drivers, even if you dont think you need them/already have them. At the top of the page for your product (For example of you had the A51) there's going to be a link "Driver Install Instructions" just follow that and every single piece of equipment on your machine should be working.

They'd be part of the typical motherboard driver-packs your manufacturer would release no?
    (for onboard USB ports anyhow)
