I haven't been able to really get into this season. One thing that bothers me to no end is Russell is supposed to 3000 years old. He looks 50+ and people rarely live to 50 back then and how does a 3000 year old guy develop a cheesy southern accent.

I hoped True Blood would get better with each season but it has gotten worse.

According to Eric, Russel has been in America since the end of WWII, plenty of time to pick up the accent. As for his appearance, I guess they thought people would be willing to suspend their disbelief for the sake of great casting.

Really, if you're at the point where you find yourself nitpicking small unimportant details like this, it's probably time to stop watching.

I think there's more to it than "he was stressed out," because we haven't ever seen him flip out on somebody like that. All that Lyn said is true and makes sense, but it isn't like this is the first time he has been through trying times on the show.
