I'm a little worried about the iAd thing. Are ads going to be on everything, or is it just something to make it easier for third party app store apps to incorporate ads into their free apps?

It's supposed to be for devs making free/cheap apps. However, if I see a paid app and I see a review that there are iAds on it, that dev can so suck a dick because I won't pay for it.

I already have enough ads on my computer/phone. iPhone didn't impress me and there's no verizon counterpart, so droid xtreme/shadow here I come.

They're going to be no more obtrusive than the ads that are currently in free apps. The only difference will be that when you click on the iAds, they'll actually be a little mini experience on their own via a movie, or a tiny little program allowing you to do something interactive with that particular ads product.

I meant, will ads be on everything (including built-in stuff), or just on app store apps at the discretion of the developer, like some free apps have currently.

That's to upgrade? That sounds like the prices of a new customer contract.

That definitely sounds like the upgrade price to me because that's the exact same price as the 3GS when it came out for upgrade. 3GS is also receiving a similar price drop as the 3G did for an upgrade: $99.

At&t upgrades are only possible (minus new iphones coming out) every 2 years, so since their contracts are 2 years.... your pretty much the same as a new customer anyways.


Also, I might be screwed on my plan on getting a 4g.

Girlfriend has a iphone 2g, and I have a 3gs..... She was gonna buy a 3g 3 months ago, convinced her to wait since the 3g will be gone shortly. Was gonna use her upgrade for a 4g (for me), and give her my 3gs.

Yet with the announcement of the iphone 4 using microsim.... i'm guessing its gonna be a little tricky now, since can't just buy the phone under her upgrade and pop my sim card in.

Did anyone else realize the "changes" to the 3gs (or maybe I didn't pay attention at all)

However, the 3gs was bumped down to $99 replacing the pricing tier of the 3g. Yet they list the 8gb model for $99......... when the hell was there a 8gb model of the 3gs? I bought one a few months back, and cheapest was 16gb for $199 >.>
