Enjoyed. Very happy to see Futurama back.

I just finished the first 2. Great job. Hopefully we get at least 10-15 if not the full 26.

First episode was epic, the second was more of the same. I don't understand why people are complaining, unless it's the nostalgia goggle at work.

If they can keep this quality for 18-24 episodes, I will be happy.

Loved the flow of the episodes, and there were some very funny moments throughout. There were some quirks with the way the characters acted, similar to the movies, but mainly only for Fry, Leela, and the Professor. Fry and Leela can be explained by the relationship overtones in the episode, and depending on how much they are going to play into it every episode, is not really a problem (they are still just as funny). If they play too much into it, then it could be annoying, but I doubt that they'll make this a romantic comedy all of the sudden.

The professor seemed to be missing too much of his senility In the past, it was like 50% senile, 25% crazy, 25% disregard for his crew, which I don't feel has carried over in the same proportions. And when he does have senile moments, he seems aware and even proud of the fact that he can't remember things, where as before, he just seemed even more confused or completely indifferent (ex: "Yes, but what about the animals?!!" "the wha??? I didn't say anything about animals... Now, the planet is set to collapse in 3 days. Incidentally, this will kill all the animals")

But, as an absolutely diehard futurama fan who's seen every episode more times than I can count (including commentary), I'm still ridiculously optimistic following these episodes. Overall they were still amazing, and of a quality very similar to the average episode of past seasons. Looking forward to more.

I think the relationship overtones are on purpose. Quite a few times when they say or do something to each other, a background character will groan or sigh.

Yes it's clearly on purpose.. I just think it's not as funny as their previous dynamic.

I actually appreciate the fact that they didn't just cop out and reset that dynamic. It will give them more opportunity to explore different stories and change the dynamic of things.

Not that uncommon. Go watch Kif gets knocked up a notch and pay attention to the sick bay scene. Kif goes from gloved to ungloved and back throughout the scene. Similar errors have happened all the time on futurama.

Similar errors have happened all the time on every animated series.

This one was highly noticeable though.

At least Adult Swim didn't win the bid on it for the rights. We'd get animation that looked like ATHF, or maybe they'd just cut together old scenes and redub everything like Sealab.

Not much more so than the Kif episode I just mentioned... It was central to the plot there, even more than it was in this most recent episode. He had just gotten pregnant from an ungloved hand (central to the plot, just like bender's one eye), and yet in the sick bay hes seen first with both gloves, then with one glove (left hand), then back to both gloves, then back to 1 glove (left hand), then returning from commercial onwards back to both gloves.

I don't see how thats any less egregious than a very brief appearance of bender with 2 eyes when he should have one. At least they didn't bounce back and forth. It only seems more noticeable BECAUSE you noticed it. Simple biased sample fallacy, I felt the Kif example was pretty strange when I noticed it, but it stands to reason, it may not have been particularly out of the ordinary and I had missed plenty of other examples when caught up in the story telling.

edit: I'd argue that because this is a new episode, people, including yourself, were more critical of it (not necessarily in a bad way) and more prone to notice such a slight then they may have been when casually watching an older repeat. In reality, there are hardcore futurama fans out there who are screencapping and freezeframing all kinds of stuff from the broadcast seasons and the new stuff for not only this kind of stuff, but also the plentiful abundance of hidden and amazingly complicated secret jokes.
