Search your email for the message you got when you first registered the square enix account? I can tell you for sure that the email will tell you your login ID.
im having a similar problem.
i got picked for the beta/alpha and it says that something with square enix accounts changed march 1 2010. now i cannot login and my account is deleted. what do?
https://secure.square-enix.com/accou.../svc/reminder?
I'm guessing typing in the e-mail you registered with should work.
"You could not log in because the service account in question is not registered.
If you would like to log in to the service, please log in to the Square Enix Account Management System and register the service account."
getting this on the dev site now
Yea, I just had my login ID e-mailed to me and I haven't tried logging in yet, but the reminder link worked. Thanks!
in the email i got it says "The official testers' site will become available for login on
Wednesday, June 9, 2010."
but this alpha starts on the 8th?
and on my membership services on my square enix account page there is nothing there saying beta or alpha. im worried![]()
I'm quite amazed how this confuses people so much.
The Alpha has been going on for 9 weeks of tests already. You join in at the middle of the 10th test. That's all there is to it. Not everyone gets to log in at the same day, because SE doesn't want to risk that the new server(s) would crash and to ease the lag.
@Hyan: I'm right there with you! Some of my friend call me an intellectual snob, so I figured I was the only one facepalming when reading posts like "I have this email that says I get access on Wednesday, but it is monday and I haz no access. What do?" I'm worried the fate of humanity.
Let's break it down. (Note: Sometimes in my attempts to be helpful, I sound condescending; please know that this is very unintentional.)
1. "The Alpha has been going on for 9 weeks of tests already."
Self-explanatory. Anyone joining now is joining 9 weeks after the rounds of testing first began. Alpha testing is conducted in 4hour bursts: 4hours for each region (JP,EU,NA). This unpredictable schedule of testing has been going on for 9 weeks.
" You join in at the middle of the 10th test. That's all there is to it. Not everyone gets to log in at the same day"
The 10th round of testing starts this weeks. Each region will have 4hours to play, on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The point Hyan is trying to convey is "Yes, you understood your email correctly. You're gonna miss on of the testing days this week because you won't have access until Wednesday. Oh well. Some players receive access today, other's even earlier: you are not one of these people."
"because SE doesn't want to risk that the new server(s) would crash and to ease the lag."
One of the main problems in the alpha is the instability or the servers. This instability is best demonstrated by the lag that people are experiencing. SE doesn't want a shit-ton of new people at one time: they want to adjust their servers incrementally, which should yield the best results.
tl;dr: If you email says you get access on June 9th, or whatever day, do not expect access sooner for any reason.
People are given forum access on at different times. Please refer to your invitation email.
If you see the following, that means you don't have access yet: "You could not log in because the service account in question is not registered.
If you would like to log in to the service, please log in to the Square Enix Account Management System and register the service account." Please refer to your invitation email for further information on when the site will be accessible to you
Hope that helps (and is as minimally snarky as possible).
