    Office/Work relationships. Your experiences/opinions?

Topic. Long story short, I want to ask out a co-worker. I've heard and read many positive and negative things about these kinds of things working/not working. What are your experiences BG?

Little background. Been working at the office for 2 years, as she has. She knows I wanted to ask her out in the past, but I waited a little too long last time, and she met some other dude (not in the office) Recently (within the last 2-3 weeks) they broke up for good. He was cheating on her for months and did her really dirty. Obviously I'm not going to ask her out immediately, and I don't want to hit that ever dangerous friend zone crap. I was out with her and a bunch of her friends this past weekend for some glow in the dark mini golf. We all had a great time, and all her girlfriends loved me, but I'm not interested on them. I want to hang out with her some more, but if it's too often I'll probably never have a shot. She claims she may never date again, but I've heard that countless times before.

Anyhow, moreso than the "what should I do" I'm more looking for input on your experiences with office/work things. We don't get the chance to interact much during the day at all, so nothing should change (though it always does) And if you have any input with what I should do with the lady, it is welcome. I'm not one of those hit it and quit it guys. I'm faithful, and generally non-dirtbaggish. So BG, what are your stories??

This works very well if you are in the restaurant industry.

lol...pretty much every girl I've dated except my current g/f was someone I met at work(twice at restaurants), but I've never actually dated them while we actively worked together. All of those relationships worked out terribly, but that's probably unrelated. Still I wouldn't date someone I was actively working with, that's just asking for bad news if things don't end up working out, and realistically, the majority of relationships don't work out.

    Stick it in her pooper.

But no seriously. Start with some flirting at work then randomely grab/brush/slap her ass. Gauge her reaction and either prepare yourself for boning her or to be terminated with swiftness.

Just ask yourself; do you want every woman in the office to know how small your dick is? If yes, proceed, if not, buy a hooker.

Don't dip your pen in the company inkwell. That being said, I'm engaged to my old boss.

banged a chick in the gym of my old job, left it at that. was never anything less or more, no consequences. I wouldn't take it farther than that

be a "dirtbag" and catch her on the rebound, try to do it at your work... it's pretty empowering

Did this three times, when I was 17, dated a girl I worked with, ended terribly, she was a whore.

Did it when I was 19, dated my bosses daughter, ended badly once again. I count this because it effects work.

Did it when I was 21, dated someone who worked under me, ended terribly, was also a whore.

    Like said above, shitsux.

Took three tries, but I learned eventually that you dont date chicks from work.

A relationship where you never get away from each other is the hardest one, as long as you work together you will never have any "me" time and that's probably one of the reasons why office relationships are such a minefield. It doesn't matter how much you love someone, you will eventually get sick of them if you see them around the clock every day. And co-workers talk. If you don't see her you will see others who will talk about you two.

If you're serious about her, get a new job lined up before you ask her out and if you do start dating, change jobs. If you just want a bit of fun, go elsewhere. The risk of ruining your work days for possibly years to come is not worth one game of hide the sausage.

I think it would come down to what someone else said in how much you actually work together.

I would say go for it if you're serious, but also try to keep work separated from it as much as possible. Just cover yourself at work first and foremost, and just see where it goes.

Bad, bad idea. Don't do it. You'll regret it if you do.

Don't break my cardinal rule man. It always ends badly. Only time I've ever seen it work is if you work in totally different departments for a huge company (i.e. she works in accounting, you work in engineering) and absolutely have to go way far out of your way to see the other person. But to me that's not technically working with the other person honestly.

This is just personal, done this twice. Both times they tried to get me fired afterwards, and even tho the sex in both cases was... well just great, it wasn't worth the headache after.
