Im from Regina, its a pretty shitty city. Not to mention Regina & Winnipeg seriously get cold as fuck in winter. Its a huge transition from Cali (even the mountains). Visit in mid january before even thinking of moving there. Consider southern Alberta, Ontario or anywhere in B.C.

When I last went to Canada, we traveled mostly in the southwestern tip of British Columbia. It's awesome as hell there. It's not cold -- the climate's a lot like California's, except not as scalding hot in the summer, and they have rain -- and their majestic mountains make ours look like shit. Plenty of awesome parks if you want to go out and enjoy nature, and the commercial areas have lots of different kinds of businesses and restaurants. Almost everything is cheaper than its US counterpart, even though it's better quality. The sushi there is fucking phenomenal. I mean, shit. Even their conventional, low-end snacks (e.g., Reese's and Coca-Cola) are made with sugar rather than syrup, and taste better.

If you want to go exploring, you're already on the west coast, and you don't go to Vancouver, you're a dipshit. Don't listen to anyone who says it's a bad place. We had our local friend drive us around a "shitty area of town" and thought it was fucking hilarious how tame it was. Silly Canadians trying to scare poor people from Los Angeles, what are you thinking?
