Crystal Skull was bad enough.

That fiasco, combined with Shia Le*gag* has pretty much sealed the deal for me; I won't be watching. I'm gonna take the three first and live in a happy bubble where it all ended there.

Other than the ridiculous monkey part, and the refrigerator, I liked Crystal Skull -- but Raiders/Last Crusade are by far my favorite of the series.

I can't understand a lot of the criticism that Skull received. I had a bunch of friends who disliked it because they thought the climax was too unbelievable and didn't belong in an Indiana Jones movie. But honestly, the first dealt with the Arc of the Covenant, the second with mysticism, and the third with the Holy Grail. I didn't find Skull's plot any more far fetched than the rest. Besides, the movies were intended to be spoofs of cheesy 50's detective "B" movies, so OFC the tone is going to be mostly light.

Much like with Godwin's Law, when Indy met Hitler, that should have ended the series.

I liked Crusade > Raiders > Temple >>>>>>>>> Crystal was "meh" by comparison.

This will not end well, unless Lucas suffers a fatal heart attack and they do the movie afterwards anyway with better directors. Fuck, Bay would do Indy V better than Lucas.

It wasn't that the climax was terrible or unbelievable as i had no issue with that. It was the fact that the original characters seemed out of place and phoning it in. Not even going to get into the jungle scene or the fridge.

The screenplay and script were terrible.
There was way too much CGI
The basic Indy vs. the Nazi's is gone.

Raiders of the Lost Arc was the best movie of it's decade and it closed off with another great chapter which should have ended the series.

Aside from the Monkeys and the Fridge. My only real dislike was like the last 15 minutes of Special Effects that was smeared all over my Indiana Jones film.

I didn't care that it was about an Aliens skull or anything. It was it was just dominated by special effects that didn't really need to be there. It made it look like a 15 minute clip of what Lucas Arts is capable of.

I took no issue with the story, I took no issue with the effects, I found both to be fine, a natural progression even.

But there was something about the film that bugged me, something in the pacing, in the actors' performances. Everything felt--I don't know--stilted?

It felt like there were dead spaces within the dialogue, like character interactions were flat compared to previous films. Hopefully some of the chemistry will be regained, much like The Last Crusade.

"Badly received"? The 4th movie did pretty well from what I remember with both critics and in revenue.

But yeah, as long as they dont do the whole "Shia is the new main character" bullshit I'll probably watch it atleast once.

Mmm, "Mutt Jones and the Rabbit's Foot of Destiny" doesn't have the same ring to it.

I'm betting we'll just see a father/son adventure, much like The Last Crusade.
