    Safari 5

Anyone else tried it out yet? So far it's been getting a very good attention and my first impressions are pretty awesome, its very very fast.

I'm a firefox person myself for years, not sure if it'll be able to make me switch but...it definitely worths giving a try!

From what I've heard, its pretty snappy on a Mac, but the performance on PC doesn't quite stack up. Not sure how reliable that is, and obviously your results will vary. I'm sticking with Firefox.

I'm trying it now, just formatted my computer and installed win7. It's hard to judge how fast it is, but it seems decent. The guys that make adblock for chrome ported it to safari but with safari having better code, they're able to prevent ads from being loaded, rather than hiding it after the fact (like it's hidden in chrome). The interface looks smooth, will take getting used to new shortcuts.

First annoyance I have is that I can't search from the URL bar. yeah yeah, I know there's a search bar right next to it... but old habits -_-

I like the fact that when you read news you can open the reader which deletes the adds

I've been a Chrome fan, but I'll give the new Safari a shot for sure.

It still loads pages slower than Chrome for me on PC. Guess I'll try on my Mac...

I've been using it all day and I think I like it enough to keep it as my main browser. Firefox start lagging for some reason, I ended up reinstalling win7 to start fresh. idk if the problem is still there or will come back, but meh, this works.

Although, there is a noticeable delay between clicking on the Top Sites box and the animation of the page loading.
dunno what it is, maybe I need to restart, but youtube going full screen is buggy here, crashes, show lagged video
//edit yeah, when I go to full screen, my mouse disappears, hitting escape doesn't pull it away from fullscreen, goes all around buggy.

Call me paranoid, but I don't think you can turn off DNS prefetching in Safari 5. Sure, it may make some things faster, but it also means that if you're browsing this forum on Safari 5, and I insert a link such as:

    http://www.whatevermaliciouslink.info

Your ISP now has a record of your DNS query for that URL. It's more a privacy issue than a safety one, but it's a feature that users should be able to disable, even if they have to triple-click "I am Advanced" to do it.
