So I guess I got my first virus I think. It basically locked me out from doing anything. Every program I tried to run gave me a warning saying that it was infected. Every website I tried to open changed to a red screen stating that it is dangerous to navigate to this address and suggested I go to the Windows page regarding security or something.

I restarted my computer, Held F12 and did some check or something. After it did its check, it said that Windows could not start and gave me the option of running it from a time that it has known to function properly.

So now, does that mean I'm safe from this virus or what? If there is a chance I'm keylogged, I'm assuming it isn't safe to run FFXI or anything either?

Restart your computer. Press F8 upon start up and choose Safe Mode with Networking. Use your browser and download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from www.filehippo.com. Install, update, run full scan, remove traces found. Repeat the full scan process in Safe Mode w/ Networking until no traces are found. Go back into normal mode, everything should work fine.

PS: If you can't DL MB-AM in Safe Mode with Networking, try downloading on another PC and put it on a Flash Drive and just update it on the infected machine. Report back once you're done or run into a problem.

PSS: Install Comodo Internet Security 4 (it's free as well) from Filehippo too. Not sure if it'll install in Safe Mode though but it's pretty thorough.
