I wonder if SE will have any part in making this or if it's just a marketing ploy.

SE will probably have no part in making the game as the publisher and will only be distributing it, just like how they published MW2 in japan i imagine.

I hope this means they will take more action than just putting their name on it though.

Enjoyed the first two Ds games for what they were worth. I want to say I'm looking forward to yet another 20 hours of dungeon-crawling, face-smashing fun, but I'm not really...

Nice to see them going back to Ehb. I wonder we'll have any burly guys like Kroduk and his "Kroduktivity" as he smashed faces with a 2-hander.

I also wonder if any of the plot from DS2 will be involved, as Dryads and a few other races were new, and the whole "Big guy with a really big sword" villian aspect was new (for the series, at least.)

Also, those souls possessing people into slavering zombie-people-things was a pretty badass touch for the time.

it doesn't look bad at all. I mean DS was always supposed to be Gas Powered Games/Microsoft's answer to the Diablo series, basically diablo but with a party. If it's the same gameplay as the first 2 dungeon sieges, with hack-and-slash action RPG gameplay and randomized loot, then I'll be very happy with those graphics... especially considering that the only option you get for that on consoles is currently Sacred 2, lol

I will be besieging that dungeon, mostly because I'm a sucker for diablo-eque games with massive loot-pools.

    /release week alarm clock buzz

Has anyone heard from any previews if there is much of a difference between systems? Played the demo on ps3 yesterday and really liked it, but you know how things usually end up better on pc.

I played the ps3 demo as well and I thought the opposite. I am actually a little worried at the moment that the game simply isn't going to look great on any platform including pc. The switch from auto-attacks to button mashing also have me worried that the series might be done if this game flops.

I played the first to no end, I skipped the second title (no reason, should I have?), and after playing the PS3 demo, I don't know how I feel about it. I just don't think I care for any of the prebuilt character/classes. I would have preferred to built my own character and develop it myself. I don't think it was a good route to take.

DSII is pretty great, it's basically diablo with a party. You have a great deal of control over character customization, for all your party members
