DS2 has a pretty good plot, as well, especially towards the end. Getting an extra party slot with each level of difficulty was actually a nice touch, although there are some fights that are borderline impossible at higher difficulty, even if you used godmode cheats like Inifinite Life. There's more than one way to kill your party.

Hmmm, yea I liked the ps3 demo, but I also never saw games I or II so I know nothing about what the series used to be. I did feel the textures were a bit lacking, was kind of hoping that the pc version would have a fix for that but from reading the steam forum on it some it sounds like the pc version is just a port of the console. I too would have liked a custom character build, it would also have been nice to know what the stats do as well. Guess this one will be a wait a month or 2 and get a discounted or used ps3 disc.

Anyone pick this up yet? I've been wanting to get it for the co-op, but I heard initially somewhere that the person who comes into your game doesn't bring their own character they appear as a random character (similar to Fable 2).

I heard its nothing like the first two, and that killed any interest I had in it.

I said this about Fable 2 and I'll say it again here. That has to be the laziest and dumbest god damn multiplayer mechanic ever.

I am not enjoying it as much as past DS titles, but it's still got the HnS feel to it that I occasionally crave.

Those of you that do have it, how would it be for a $40 title whenever Amazon finally puts it on sale? Definitely worth getting at that point or is it not even worthy of that?

I dislike this trend of taking PC games and turning them into shitty console mains.

Well, I was probably not going to pick up my pre-order of this, but now I'm definitely not going to.

    Fucking this.

Tried the pc demo, didn't really like it all. Didn't like the controls or the movement of the character. Seemed so clunky.

Also the voice acting is horrible and it seemed like WAY too many conversations going on....I just wanted to fight stuff. I dunno, maybe all the talking tones down once you get farther in the game....didn't have the patience to find out.

I picked it up when it came out. If you're expecting it to be in the vein of DS and DSII you will be disappointed. The combat is tedious and seems unbalanced. The story as of so far isn't bad, but I'm only about 1/3 of the way in. Graphics seem a bit dated but are otherwise alright. The closest current game I can compare it to is the new Dungeons and Dragons Daggerdale game up for download. Otherwise it's a Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance clone. It's not terrible. It's not great. It's definitely not worth 60 bones. I would pay 30 at the most for it. Which sucks since I shelled out 60 when it was released

One of the things that killed it for me was the camera view in Co-op: both characters are forced to stay in the same view which leads to frustration when one person wants to go on and the other is picking up items or w/e.

Why they did it like this, I do not know why.

So much worse than the first and second DS games.

About 5hrs in and ive lost all interest.

Glad I only torrented it and didnt spend the cash as I was planning on.

Im playing with the first character (sword and shield guy)

Theres maybe 15 animations or so total. All the enemies seem the same. Some nice environments and graphics, but I wouldve rathered shitty graphics and good gameplay.

    Just mah 2 cents

Noticed today on Steam that the Dungeon Siege III Deluxe comes with both 1 and 2. How does the co-op work for these? Does the second player come in with their own character and then you can do the full story and loot collecting together? Considering picking this up if it doesn't go on sale during the summer sale if it works like that.

Hit the start button and go to tutorials (I think that's it...) and it will explain stats. I enjoy playing it with someone else for lots of loot and such but recently my game glitched and won't let me progress anymore. Looks like this will go into my pile of games that I will never finish. Anyone curious about the glitch I'll spoiler as it might spoil a little story.

    Spoiler: show
It's in the mines where you have to cave in the entrances. I don't remember which cart it is but it's like we're stuck in combat so it says it's too dangerous to plant the bomb in the cart. It initially did not do this as we were able to blow it up but then we both died. No idea how to remedy it.
