Is "common sense" the new "both sides"?
Is "common sense" the new "both sides"?
Is the MM icon a 'I am trolling lawl' signboard for posts or is Seppuku just being retarded? I'm not familiar enough with his posting history. Someone help me out here.

Hey look a video of the shooting. Two things I noticed about the article. The first is that the officer never yells out anything or says anything before shooting, which contradicts his account of the scene. (unless the video was altered to take that audio out)
Second a spokesperson for the border patrol saysOh and also not sure if it makes a difference or not but the boy was 14 not 15."deadly force" is allowed "when an agent is in imminent threat of physical or bodily harm, which could cause death or injury or in protection of an innocent third party."
It's a cell phone so the quality is crappy but you can still distinctly hear the yelling in the distance given how far away the video was being taken from. This video does confirm though rocks were being thrown. So given from the video, it was obviously an intense situation judging by the distraught women talking.
The video also shows the border agent was not surrounded when he was being pelted with rocks.
Just look at all those deadly giant boulders they were throwing. Cop musta thought he was playing a game of Asteroids and just wanted to break them up so they'd sail by harmlessly.
Are you kidding me?
EDIT: Errr 3.
EDIT 2: Errrr nvm.
Because at the time he was in the middle of arresting someone. Which is clear in the video now, and was also mentioned in the original article.
This is the only correct answer. Regardless how one feels about the justification of "guns vs rocks", this officer should be (and currently is) taken off duty and investigated to fully understand the exact specifics on what actually happened.
It's sad that reporters can't get a simple thing like someone's age right nowadays, let alone find out what actually happened before spouting out a billion different theories and stories where none have any actual evidence to support them.
As for the video, while it helps clarify the situation some, it's still hard to see what exactly happened. Especially as it cuts out then comes back again. This was much more then "bunch of kids playing and one gets shot", the border guards were actively trying to arrest/detain these people for whatever reason. That situation automatically increases the threat and danger levels for the guards. I still can't see exactly what happened, but it seems the kid was directly involved.
sometimes i wonder how kuya would react if he was placed in a volatile situation
Not only that but he was a fair distance from the people throwing rocks and could have gotten away.
Obviously some people were acting very stupidly but I think the main question is whether or not deadly force was necessary, meaning was the officer surrounded? Could he have gotten away or resolved the situation without the use of deadly force? Did he actually fear for his life?
To me the video shows that the situation was not as dire as was first let on and he should have moved to the other side of the river rather than resorting to using his gun.
Still just interpretations though.
Fixed. Everyone is interpreting the video the way that they want to based on the assumptions they already made before seeing the video.
When I watched the video it seemed obvious to me that deadly force was excessive and unnecessary. To you it seems to confirm that deadly force was necessary and the right thing to do.
to me it seems like a warning shot went where it shouldnt have gone
Given the distance between the runners and the cop the rocks would have to have been thrown accurately at MLB speeds to present a real threat. In the video the guy pulled his gun when the one dude he did apprehend was resisting and he took an unaimed shot across the river out of frustration or anger or something, but clearly not because he was encircled by Mexistinians showering deadly rocks on him.
