AT&T Is Said to Have Exposed iPad Owners’ E-Mail Addresses

It's a minor story but the hacker's group name had me rolling. I would love to see the reaction of the general public when they try to look up the meaning of the name. It's hilarious to me that the New York Times reports the name like they are unaware of the joke.

The hacking group, Goatse Security, found that a program on AT&T’s Web site, when given an iPad’s ID number, would return the owner’s e-mail address. It used a script that could guess IDs and collect the associated e-mail addresses. The group eventually notified AT&T of the breach, and the security hole was closed.

Incidentally, I've never been in the same room as an iPhone, nor used an apple since the early 90's, so I had no clue there was a program named Safari.

So f -> t, and ri -> n on a low res pic is an easy mistake for someone who is aware that Jobs is the devil.

FBI is now involved. Awesome. AP, Reuters and a bunch of other news organizations reported on this but I haven't seen one article that indicated they knew the meaning of goatse.

I've always seen it as a cell in midst of the anaphase of mitosis. Probably because I had the stages of mitosis beat into me throughout undergrad. I guess I can see what you mean though.
