BRD has multiple tiers on top of Elegy and Lullaby. I wouldn't say that adding more buffs to COR (and BRD will get new ones as well) is gonna throw off any balance.

What do those multiple tiers get BRD exactly? All they mostly do is give a more level-appropriate effect, and may need to be stacked to even match what a non-unlucky roll will give.

The mechanics of each job do have their pros and cons. It's not like COR has nothing other than a few staple rolls.

I don't agree, if just for the fact that a lot of the existing rolls aren't used, or could be rolled into categories of their own. If anything, I would say Brd has more critical buffs than Cor and more throwaways, without the restrictive shared timers.

Well, for one, some of the suggested rolls step right on the toes of the "critical buffs" (read: March). Second, BRD is basically the same way. How often do you use anything but Ballad, March, Minuet, or Madrigal?

Again, not saying that adding -anything- is bad. More that immediately jumping to 20 effects might be a bit much, especially since BRD likely will only get a couple new effects, if any at all. We'll just be appending the next numeral to existing macros.

It's been quiet a while since I've seen Libra in a FF game, most recent being 13, but I cannot think of another that I've seen it in, perhaps 6.

Hopefully it will prove to be just as useful as in the most current final fantasy, which could possibly mean less retarded testing on the mobs needed to know what exactly they are weak against, and perhaps unveil their weakness?(looking at you AV)

While I wouldn't put it past SE, giving PUP martials upgrade and not MNK made me laugh in your little speculation and I consider a HP boost far from a "nice possibility" as you put it. If MNK gets HP Boost then PUP would likely get another evasion boost trait. Shit for shit.

Now as I asked before, is it possible to .dat mine for job trait upgrades in this patch?

Nice little thing for SE to be adding in. Better than the simple /check that we currently have. Maybe now it'll be easier to figure out the mobs in the newer areas.

It is Leafstorm, it just has a different effect from the normal one when certain NMs use it. (Cemetery Cherry, Jidra and Cernunnos)

Other than DNC abilities and Libra I think not. Just remember that this is the first update and they're most likely going to add new JA/spells when the second one hits.

Can do. All dats and animations have an abbreviated "name" that anyone can view using a file viewer (such as POLUtis):

SCH JA = 246/114, "gak_libr" -- "gak_" is what SE uses for any SCH JA, for example.

I am pretty sure what Snprphnx posted was speculation about possible effects of rolls not traits for jobs.

Yeah I like seeing the little iconic things added into the game, it would be interesting if it told us certain stats and such of mobs instead of just level or HP/MP.

Looking at the most recent incarnation of Libra (FFXIII), it gave elemental resistance/weaknesses and a brief outline of their capabilities. The latter is quite unlikely, as it requires a lot of work, but I'd be willing to bet on it showing elemental weaknesses and resistances. Granted you could just wiki all that stuff, but it could save a forgetful mage some time.

Probably Level, weakness and TP. MP i doubt because even like a level 5 mob has like 2k MP.

pfft, its easy enough to tell when you're at cap, having that would be a waste of a JA, if they wanted something to gauge enmity they should place it in the UI.

suspect they will simply add an "increase duration" and "increase effect" roll. same mechanics as existing rolls with 11 giving something like a 50% boost.
