Even without the haste samba problem, it's not a good scythe anyhow. If doing a str scythe is too hard (seriously?) then do a store tp instead for a 5 hit build. Either one beats plaga easily unless the additional effect damage is something obscene. How much does the additional effect do unresisted?

What makes a good dancer? Full haste samba merits and a relative understanding of the job? Because if that is so then I have never met one on either Fairy nor Sylph and is actually the reason that I want to level the job up. I hate that noone knows how to use the job properly in my experience.

And the ability to engage a mob quickly.

12-30. You have fun spending a few weeks doing trials for a magian weapon for every job. I'm going to just pick up Abyssea weapons that absolutely blow away any weapon that takes an equivalent amount of time to get.

Uh yeah. 106 dmg endark weapon that drops from a 1hr respawn nm soloable by a handful of jobs vs spending a fuckton of time grinding EP (200 puddings? fuck that noise) or worse yet, dragging a group kicking and screaming to kill a VNM multiple times? Um gee hard one there. Beyond that, it's still a good scythe. Nice fat upgrade from my perdu, and with 14 coming in 2 months, im not wasting the effort on magian.

The store TP one can be finished in a couple of days if you fight tough mobs (Or duo then even better). Otherwise, Magians is a fucking pain in the ass to get at this point.

It isnt really the endless annoying trials that makes me loathe magians at the moment, it's the knowledge that in a few months, all of these weapons will be obsoleted again, and I'll be forced to do another 10000 mob kills to update my current weapons.

It's the endless tide of tedious boring trials that awaits us that may claim my sanity.

Currently doing OAT2-3 sword (which I hope turns into 2-4 next time) for atonement spam. Masamune for Sam. Two Dex and Two Agi daggers for thf, and PDT sword for pld. Q.Q. I should be doing OAT for mnk footwork, but I just cant bring myself to kill another 3500 mobs when I know deep down SE is going to nerf OAT working on footwork the day I finish.

By the time I finish all of my current trials, the next set will be out =/.

The problem with ToTM isn't the physical paths that require NM kills or even VNM pops/drops but some of the elemental paths that often ask for ridiculous conditions that almost never happen.

Thanks SE for Trial 169 - 200flans in fire weather/day.... oh wait, fire weather might as well not fucking exist in Zhayolm. Oh and thanks for any trial that asks for light weather SE.

What is your take on the DEX/ACC scythe? because 200 flans is a pain in the @$$, since like nobody does that trial >.>

It's really kinda ridiculous, in my opinion. At least maybe if they were somewhat interesting/etc, it'd be ok, but they are just mind-numbing. If I didn't have a 2nd monitor with netflix, I'm not sure if I would have made it through Amano even.

Pre-patch we knew the 2-3 weapons (or 2-4) were gonna come from the grindy monster path because there was no reason to have two OAT weapons when one was obviously better than the other. The low base damage also gave it away. We got 2-3 which is better than the previous options for most classes (see: none).

Every weapon will continue to be upgraded from 80-99 making TOTM a safe investment versus other weapons which may or may not become obsolete. Nowhere did I say magian weapons will be the most ideal but at the least you get to continue buffing it.

Personally? I only magian the jobs I give a fuck about. Some of the trials are ridiculous but I think anyone on BG has learned to live with the fact that our SE overlords fuck up often.
