I'm highly disappointed "stout season" is pretty much at an end. The local places have practically cleared out all of the inventory for IPAs, lagers, etc. To be candid I've drank way too much over the last six months and have basically given myself that 30 something beer gut. I gotta hit the gym! The last few beers I had that I was high on were:

Dark Horse Plead The Fifth: May be my favorite stout. Price to quality is unmatched in my opinion.
Short's Mother Stout: Very smooth and not too heavy.
Southern Tier Creme Brulee: I could have this for breakfast.

Hopslam shouldn't still be kicking around, at this point it should be considered "fallen off" and tends to be held for a year or so to develope more barleywine characteristics.
Oberon though, How I love thee.

The market I get my beer from had it around the same time last year. I remember keeping a stash until Memorial Day when my friends and I drank it all. Bottled 2/2/15 so it's not that old.

I don't doubt that it's holding up okay, I'm just surprised that it's still there. A trip to Portland ME is in my future, I was able to score tickets to Allagash wild friendship blend release dinner. Cantillon, Russian River, allagash. Should be fantastic.
As for the end of stout season there's always hear rounds that are just as good as the limited stuff. If you're in need of suggestions let me know what state you're from and I can recommend.
Same for sours in NC. Its in the business I'm in.

I had the luck and pleasure of getting a six pack of Bell's Saturn Bourbon Barrel Aged Barleywine. Something around $13.75 out the door and it was incredible.

Anyone knowledgeable about orange weisse beers? Or sours in general?

I ordered Rushing Duck's Orange Weisse to try at a restaurant and wasn't too crazy about it. It was too sour and citrusy for my tastes, but my wife loved it. Looking for recommendations for my wife to expand her beer palate and get her away from drinking this hibiscus ginger cider shit she's been on.

The rushing duck weisse line is super lactic, that pucker power is great. If you want to introduce her to a sour that's available and not wallet breaking, Try a few gose style beers. They're traditionally brewed with coriander and sea salt but they're super light and refreshingly tart.
I'm fairly versed in the world of sours and weisse beers, what does your wife usually tend to drink?

Sours are my fucking favorite. I second trying a gose for something not quite as tart; also, the backsweetened lambics like Lindemans are super popular too. Hands down best budget sour that is easily available is Petrus Aged Pale. It's not unheard of to spend $35-$50 for a single bottle of a great sour.

I just can;t get into the sours. Maybe it's because I haven;t found that "one," but so far I haven;t had anything to wow me.

The pasteurized Lindeman's stuff is so off style for what an actual lambic tastes like it's hard to transition I find. They're way too sweetened that when people try an actual fruited lambic (ie: Hannsen's, Oud Beersel, Cantillon etc) they're surprised they're not that sweet and definitely more tart.

I do agree with Petrus, That's super easy to come by and quite good. I'd also recommend Rodenbach or Duchesse de Bourgogne if you want to stick with the traditional styles.
Tokitoki; Best shelf available sour I'd recommend to try and see if you dig 'em would be either Anderson Valley gose (Kimmie, The Yink & The Holy Gose) or a really traditional Rittergut's gose.

Or on the non-sour route, I couldn't recommend you try and find some Rothaus Pils Tannen Zapfle. Probably the best packaged pilsner on the market right now. Super refreshing and really hits the spot in this heat lately.

She likes things sweet and tart. She's a fan of the Lindeman's lambics. Whenever she comes with me to the beverage shop, she usually grabs a bottle or two of them while I browse. So far, this is the only type of beer that she likes. She hates most things that are bitter, and I prefer to drink Belgian style ales and stouts. Currently on my shelf I have Gulden Draak, Ommegang's Gnomegang and an Old Rasputin. So you can see how our tastes conflict lol.

Now that you guys brought up gose, I just remembered that I had a Westbrook gose a few weeks back. I can't say that I was a fan, but it's something my wife might like. I found a shop nearby that has the Rushing Duck on tap so I'm gonna head there and get a growler filled and see if they have any of the stuff that Dook mentioned. Thanks for the recs!

Xerlic; my wife is the same way, she adores those sugar bomb Lindemans.

I like my sours so tart that it makes my toes curl and my nipples hard. Dook's got some solid recommendations. I'm not a huge fan of pilsners though; if I'm going that route, I'd rather get a Kolsch.

If you like those teeth hurting make ya pucker sours, I can't recommend Hanssen's oude kriek enough. Makes ya lips smack haha.
Judging from having a Rushing Duck tap available I'm gonna have to recommend my favorite kolsch; Beau's Lug Tread from Canada. It is definitely the best kolsch on the market and it comes in beautifully packaged 4pack of 20oz bottles. Should run about 13 bucks.

Funny you should mention that; just had my local bottle shop order me those. I had to get a case of each but they are all beautiful.

Wifey got me a specialty beer for our anniversary. The only other milk stout I had was Left Hand Nitro, which I didn't like (not heavy enough for me and too sweet). This is incredible. Spoiled for huge pic!

I've had their Whiskey Barrel aged Smoking Wood, but this one has been harder to find. I'll be drinking this one in a couple months - probably around Thanksgiving.

Also, I'm really excited that I found a bottle of the Bruery's - Bois and I'll be aging this for a good 2 years. It is my not-so-great contribution to a power-lineup me and a couple friends will eventually do. One friend is supplying a 3 Floyds Brewing - Dark Lord from (I think)2013, and another friend is supplying 2 Brooklyn Brewery's - Black Ops one of which is from 2011 and the other is from 2012.
