Japan can play a decent defense heavy game to whittle the clock down, but they ought not to. Same thing with the game against the Dutch where they held them off for a long time, but after the Dutch goal the Japanese played much better on the attack. They have carried over that type of play and it has paid off so far. Btw, Okubo is always a super solid player this World Cup.

Yeah with 2 yellow cards for time wasting, I was actually worried Japan would play a defensive game for 90 mins, but they have opened up and started attacking, nice to see. This world cup needs less defensive teams.

Thats how Greece won the Euro 2004.. by playing completely defensively and nipping in a goal for a 1-0 win, almost *every* game. It wasn't pretty lol
