Do all the players reside in the United States or are they allowed to use someone from other countries cause honestly doesn't really make you a true USA/England/Mexico team now does it. Pretty lame. You have to have citizenship in the country to play on their team. Different countries have different rules on granting it though. Some say if one of your grandparents were a citizen then you can apply citizenship. Spain has a law that if you play in La Liga for 5 years you are eligible for citizenship.

The main rule FIFA has though is that if you play for any national team, you are then ineligible to ever play for another team/

As posted above, it all depends on the nation, most requires citizenship and FIFA says you can't play for another team, France only requires citizenship for instance, most players do not even live in France.
