Newfag, oldfag, at the end of the day, we are all grassfags.

But to be more reasonable, the argument has been happening all over the place, seems silly to harp in on the discussion solely with a get out noobs argument.

EDIT: In other words, sorry for assuming you were making a joke, but were in fact serious, redundant and perhaps late, but serious.

    lol

I think this is actually the official reason that FIFA is giving for not instituting a goal line camera.

Pretty good official reason. At least you'd know it was from the heart.

Can't wait for the rest of the matches, pretty much all of them are evenly matched games without an obvious winner (except maybe Uruguay - Ghana, but even then its by no means an obvious win for Uruguay).

Really intrigued to see what Japan can do tomorrow against Paraguay, along with the obvious huge match-up of Spain and Portugal. Should be great!

This instant replay debate is kinda silly, we all know its not a matter of if, but when FIFA will make the change.

It's kind of ironic there are people arguing against replays, since soccer has one of the most historically famous reasons why replays should be implemented; Hand of God.

Best things teams could do about replay is just boycott the World Cup... could you imagine a World Cup without Brazil, Argentina, etc? Shit would be all over the media in a heartbeat.

Have you been watching english coverage of games? Its already all over the media over here lol, BBC had a montage of all the mistakes that could have been avoided with replays... also a montage of the FIFA representative refusing to comment on refereeing over and over again! haha

Yeah I've caught some of that and I do tune into the ITV feeds, my point was moreso if the players don't show up then there's no tournament lol

brazil and argentina would NEVER do that, most ppl around here and in argentina like the fact that the ref makes mistakes, they like football the way it is.

I dont agree though, but thats just the way it is around here.

I'm convinced that Fifa is the absolute worst sporting head ever. Worse than Al Davis. Their approach to everything? Ignore, and now just censor it...

JOHANNESBURG -- FIFA will censor World Cup match action being shown on giant screens inside the stadium after replays of Argentina's disputed first goal against Mexico fueled arguments on the pitch.
Angry Mexico players protested to referee Roberto Rosetti after the screens in Johannesburg's Soccer City showed Argentina forward Carlos Tevez was offside before he scored the opening goal in a 3-1 victory on Sunday.

Jeff Bradley: In front of their very eyes

http://a.espncdn.com/i/columnists/bradley_jeff_m.jpg Unfortunately, there's no turning back a call, even when players and coaches see the video evidence, writes ESPN The Magazine's Jeff Bradley. Story

FIFA spokesman Nicolas Maingot said Monday that replaying the incident was "a clear mistake."
"This will be corrected and we will have a closer look into that," Maingot told a news conference Monday. "We will work on this and be a bit more, I would say, tight on this for the games to be played."
Maingot said the screens were used to broadcast a FIFA "infotainment program" to fans before the match and could be used to replay some match action.
Responsibility for operating the screens falls to South Africa's World Cup organizing committee, which took charge of the 10 stadiums during the tournament.
Organizers' spokesman Jermaine Craig said he had spoken to the stadium broadcasting team about the incident.

"The goal was awarded and it happened relatively quickly," Craig said. "In retrospect, maybe it shouldn't have been shown. It was shown and unfortunately there is nothing we can do about that."
Maingot said FIFA has not yet received feedback from its officials at the match about a mass confrontation between coaches and players behind the Mexico bench as the teams left the field at halftime.
Italian referee Rosetti was at the center of a melee trying to separate heated conversations that included Argentina coach Diego Maradona.

It's possible. They obviously find value in the controversy, which is somewhat sickening if you feel (as I do) that the integrity of a sport revolves at least partially around judicious governing.

It has nothing to do with it being "American" or being a "bandwagon fan" ffs. You guys must be serious sports fan noobs or something who seem to think you are on some special level because you accept actions that compromise the integrity of the games you watch. Its called settling, and that is what you are doing my friends.

Legit SPORTS fans want to see the best competing against each other with no bull shit affecting the outcome, whether it be steroids, rigging of games (betting, throwing a game, etc), cheating, or bad officiating. They all affect the integrity of the game.
