That thing had some mad weight behind it.

Japan really needs to unleash themselves out of the midfield to get it in the net. Sloppy playing by both sides in general with some nice moments. Paraguay has two missed opportunities.

And my response is quite simple:

I'm all for more refs.

I'm all for a better detection system on boundaries, and multiple people on offsides duty.

I'm all for reviewing cards and decisions affecting future games after the fact and taking appropriate action.

Stopping the game to look at replays, or letting the game continue then calling it back due to replays, both are simply terrible options.

I don't think they're terrible options necessarily, but I do think that they're just inappropriate for the sport of soccer.

More refs easily solves this problem, I think. Two refs behind each goal side could have easily rectified the standout bad calls from this world cup.
