PK requires an entirely different skillset than overall finishing ability, shot power/accuracy/technique etc.

It is entirely possible to be a terrible finisher but an incredible PK taker. Composure is the most important thing to have for a PK taker. Take Ashley Cole, Chivu, Silva and Alex for example. All great PK takers but they've got rather poor shooting skills.

PK match is more about psychology in term of skills and reaction. The result just only shows the Japan GK is not too familiar with the PK match.

Do you hardcore soccer fans like PKs? As someone who only watches during the World Cup, and just watched the end of Paraguay/Japan, I think they are fundamentally retarded.

Why put the shit so close? Why have a match come down to either (A)The guy kicking fucking up and missing the goal or (B)The goalie getting lucky and diving to the exact area the ball is kicked. They should move it back so the guy kicking has to actually come up with a solid strike, and the goalie has a chance to actually use his reflexes and athleticism to react to the ball, rather than having to dive before the ball is even struck to have a chance at a save.

Watching that dumb finish to a game inspired me to rant and I'm curious what others think about PKs.
