Has a ref ever reversed a call after the team which the call was imposed on complained?
Yeah. Good refs will try to make up for it if they realize they blew a call.
Simple example: Ball goes out of bounds and clearly should be team A's throw in, but it's blown and given to team B. The next time it goes out of bounds in roughly the same area of the field and it clearly should be team B's throw, he gives it to A instead.
It's tricky and questionable stuff, but it's the closest thing to a reversal you'll see.
Edit: Or they may give the team that got screwed the advantage in a 50/50 scenario.
Yeah, you are right. Imo he has been playing good, but yet far worse than he had us used to. He seems to be coming back to his best days so it is good knews, having a better goalkeeper is not only good because of being better (lol) but because of the security feeling it transmits to the rest of the team. Coming back to the penalties in that Italy vs Spain match, do you remember when Spain was one ahead and then Buffon manages to stop Guiza's one, and Casillas is like "dont worry, I am also catching the next one".
Here, if anyone wants to watch them, while in the topic (can see most are shoot low, while the two high ones are really good and nearly impossible to stop, and lastly, the first of Italy is mid-high and really well shoot but Casillas almost catches it. Keep in mind both Buffon and Casillas where considered two of the best, if not overall best goalkeepers at the time):
Spoiler: show
Some people are saying that the reason Cristiano played shittily was because he is apparently now a father.
Good Referees? That's the worst thing a referee could do, I'd call him a shitty fuckbag.
Golden Rule of being a good referee: NEVER, EVER LET PREVIOUS DECISIONS, EXTERNAL FACTORS, AND MISC. NOISE INFLUENCE YOUR CALLS. This is exactly what they'll teach you at school.
This is actually one of the biggest factor that makes a referee a good one. Moment he attempts to cover his shit with something else, he loses control of the match. Period.
...also, federations like UEFA/FIFA punishes referees harshly the moment they attempt something like this. You fucked up once? OK, don't repeat it.
With the mother wishing to remain anonymous, and he having sole custody. Sounds awesome... if there was politics involved in coming to that arrangement then maybe. Otherwise I think he just wasn't in top form and more importantly wasn't getting the service that he needs to ultimately do well.
Yes
Fashion.
Chicks ruin players. Last time Ronaldinho was the victim of a french woman.
True man, true.
I'd guess it has something to do with the quality of the fabric/synthetic fabric available back then and the ones at the moment. They probably werent nearly as comfortable as they are now, and maybe longer pants could even hinder their movements, while nowadays jean's fabric adapt really well to them, are very good ventilated, elastic, comfortable, etc, thus allowing players to rock longer jeans. Just a guess though, all this should be minimal in an sport like this (say, compared to swimming) so maybe you two are right for the most part.
It's fashion.
If you want to see it to the extreme, watch old footage of Larry Bird &co, then watch a current nba game.
It's funny cuz to an American it's like asking "why does my gym teacher always wear nuthuggers?"
How Premier League got found out at the World Cup
The best league in the world? Forget it. World Cup performances have exposed the myth
http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/65365,...#ixzz0so6k4600...many of the biggest names of the Premier League - including England’s ludicrously over-hyped striker Wayne Rooney - have proved total flops. After England, the team with the most Premier League players in their squad was Nigeria, who failed to win a game. France, with six Premier League players, scored just one goal and finished bottom of their group, while Ivory Coast, who also had six (and a former Premiership manager), also failed to progress from the group stage.
Out of the teams with sizeable contingents of Premier League players in their squads, only the USA, superbly coached and motivated by Bob Bradley, performed better than expected.
