They had me until the last two releases. FIFA 09 and FIFA 10 took over in my house. Kinda saddened by that actually after all the time spent with PES/WE... but I just couldn't handle the latest redesign. I have high hopes for the next one.

Played the hell outta FIFA10 over the last few days though, given the break from any WC games. My Ultimate Team is shaping up... Tevez, Higuain, and Ibra up front =P

I feel like the physics and player control were a lot smoother and more natural than Fifa titles.

While we're on the subject, anyone notice that those prone to diving (i.e. C.Ronaldo) are prone to do so in the game as well? I can't tell if it's just me, or if there's some sort of hidden trait for it.

@Graelinn - What turned you off from the new one? I love how detailed it is. The amount of control that you have over your team's strategy etc is the big draw for me. Plus the extensive stats for the players that gives a more accurate portrayal of their skills.

Buying a soccer game is a really good way to learn the players and teams... that or play football manager if you are into sim gaming at all, putting my bias for the sport aside it's easily the best sports sim franchise ever and one of the best sim franchises of all-time

Also that was an awesome match today... very entertaining. I was pulling for Uruguay bigtime and now I'm annoyed that either the Dutch, Germans, or Spaniards will be hoisting the trophy as I don't like any of them. Go Germany I guess... ugh that just feels so wrong...

The only fifa title i have played is fifa 2002, and honestly, I don't like it. Because it was too unrealistic that all those superstar stats were raised insanely in that game lol...

I used to play alots WE (or so called PES) on my ps1. They introduce some more new move/skill using the analog since the WE in ps2, but too bad I have never really get into serious after that.

I can't help it Kyo, FIFA is just always there when i don't feel like sinking hours into a FF13 or RDR. =) Its my go to game.

Actually, I realized I have yet to play PES10 Gadritan. I will say that i loved the Become a Legend, and that was nearly all i played in PES 2009. I think that it is a combination of (probably minor) things that eventually saw me giving up on it.

1) Lack of licenses. On PC, who cares as all can be easily patched in in minutes. But for Console... i just got tired of renaming, and redesigning the kits (which i did for all Premier League teams in 2009).

2) Gameplay just feels blocky anymore. I don't NEED it to have the crazy fluidity of FIFA, which some feel to be too fast, but I would like it to have a bit more flexible movement? Maybe a few more modes, the same handful seem a bit outdated.

Like I said I loved the Become a Legend mode and the gameplay when controlling just the one player. I have read that 2010 is a bit faster? I will have to try out a demo. I wish i hadn't traded in my copy of PES6 =(

All in all, I just want too much i think. New modes but old gameplay? I miss my Manager Mode, and the SHINE of FIFA's glossiness has me spoiled the last 2 years.

I've always liked Diego Forlan and wonder why he never caught on with a bigger club after leaving Man United. I thought for certain he would go to a major club after leaving Villarreal and was surprised to see him go to Atletico Madrid. I wonder if he will go back to Atletico after his fantastic WC or if someone else will go after him (he is 31 so probably only has 3-4 years left tops). Atletico defending and goalkeeping have just been crap the past couple of years for the most part so it would be interesting to see him on a team where they can actually hold a lead.
