Paul should get a medal too.
Paul should get a medal too.
This is another reason why soccer will never make it in America, you guys just don't understand.
Spain is so absurdly good right now it's hard to even comprehend... and yet the Dutch have an extremely good chance of straight up outplaying them as a team.
It's insane, I'm looking at a team like Spain that's about as stacked as any international team has been since I was born... and the only thing that really scares me about them is Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaa.
Muslera was possessed by the octopus. No other explanation here.
Suarez did what he had to for his team to advance. No more, no less. Any other player would do exactly the same thing in his situation. It's not like Ghana didn't get a chance to win it directly after it happened.
Anyway, GO NED! If ESP wins, I lose my damn pool.
FIFA: "We will look into Goal Line technology in October" "But there won't be any replay."
Kind of wish the Referee just had the power to just say "Goal" in those kind of situations (ie the Suarez scenario). A goal that is definitely going in, but a foul prevents it from doing so. But yes, the rules as they are, Ghana failed to capitalize on the situation which is their own fault.
He has got a point actually, more goal generally provides a much more entrertaining game even for the hardcore fans.
There are exceptions of course, but yeah. A 4-4 game would likely be a first page news on a European newspaper when a 0-0 game would remain on the sports page.
About Suarez's handball, I wouldn't consider it dirty at all. Dives are dirty, intentional fouls out of grief are dirty but that incident is not.
It is no different than a tactical foul many resort on the field. It just happened to be in the box and the guy missed the penalty.
So who's leading in the golden boot tally?
Right now it is a tie I believe:
5 Goals - Villa (ESP), Sneijder (NED), Forlan (URU), Muller (GER)
4 Goals - Klose (GER)
3 Goals - Suarez (URU)
2 Goals - Podolski (GER), Robben (NED)
So clearly it comes down to Villa and Sneijder. Robben can fuck off.
Unless Villa outscores him =P
Hmm, I think assists looks like:
3 Assists - Kuyt, Kaka, Oezil, Schweinsteiger, Mueller
2 Assists - Gargano, Sung Yueng, Van Persie, Suarex, Xavi, Podolski
1 Assist (from the two finalist teams only) - Navas, Villa, De Zeeuw, Van Der Vaart, Elia, Sneijder, Robben
I can't wait...
2 more hours...
...ugh why did I wake up now.
The day has come.
