Kind of wish the Referee just had the power to just say "Goal" in those kind of situations (ie the Suarez scenario). A goal that is definitely going in, but a foul prevents it from doing so. But yes, the rules as they are, Ghana failed to capitalize on the situation which is their own fault.

It's very similar to something like taking a foul to stop a free layup in basketball, or a pass interference to stop a sure TD in football, etc. etc. Simply what you do.

lol, it has nothing to do with whether you understand soccer or not, a more opened up and high scoring game is more entertaining than a more well defended game for fans rooting for neither side, this is true for all team sports, american sports included

He has got a point actually, more goal generally provides a much more entrertaining game even for the hardcore fans.

There are exceptions of course, but yeah. A 4-4 game would likely be a first page news on a European newspaper when a 0-0 game would remain on the sports page.

About Suarez's handball, I wouldn't consider it dirty at all. Dives are dirty, intentional fouls out of grief are dirty but that incident is not.

It is no different than a tactical foul many resort on the field. It just happened to be in the box and the guy missed the penalty.
