It was a brutal game. I was upset the Dutch lost, but oh well. Netherlands and Germany were the two teams I liked the most (outside of the US), sad to see neither of them win.
Also... I like the Dutch side, but seriously fuck Van Bommel. If De Jong had spiked him in the chest instead I would have been ok with that.
There's only two things i hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

wow what a douche lol. I stated an opinion, and acknowledged how good a tournament Forlan had, but personally I do not think he has played better than Iniesta. There is nothing rude, nor untoward about that statement. Learn some fucking manners.Forlan had a great tournament, but I think he's completely mugged Iniesta of that Golden Ball lol. Iniesta was by far the player of the tournament for me.
And yeah, Van Bommel is possibly the dirtiest player I have ever seen.. bar Roy Keane.
So, there were some terrorist attacks in Uganda on people watching the World Cup Final yesterday. One American at least died, was a friend of a friend. Pretty crazy.
Dunno man
Forlan hands down for me is the greatest player at the WC this year just because he banged in the shots when he needed to, and he carried Uruguay to the semi-finals.
Iniesta had a great WC, But I'd have to give it up to Forlan, just because Spain's entire roster is world class players and Uruguay has maybe 2-3.
The partnership between Xavi-Iniesta, WON spain the world cup. Perhaps I should be putting even more emphasis for Xavi to be fair. But they both run the Spanish midfield seamlessly and work as a complete unit, I couldn't pick between them until I saw the stats but jesus.
Xavi beat Dungas previous record of 589 passes, with a grand total of 669 passes with an 81% completion rate. That is insane. Before the final had even started, Spain had completed 3387 passes.
Add to that,
Busquets 555 passes, 88% completion.
Alonso 544 passes, 81% completion.
Iniesta 382 passes, with a 73% completion rate, BUT Iniesta, was the link between Spains midfield and it's attacking output. He was the one that was always at the center of play and able to capitalize on spains midfield domination.
Their midfield to put it short, was impenetrable..
On the other hand, Forlan had 309 passes, but with only a 54% completion rate. 54% of 309 is 166. That is 166 successful passes in the 7 games he played, yes he's a striker I know. But what you can deduce from this, is that he basically "carried" his team, with the 5 goals.
Spain passed their way to victory in this world cup, and the bulk of that was done in midfield, and you're basically telling me that because those aren't goals that *I'm* retarded.
It's too bad 1 person scored over half their goals in the entire tournament, and it wasn't him.
I'll give you this much, though:
It's awfully hard to argue the case that what you said was the most retarded thing in the thread when people have said Arjen Robben isn't a good finisher twice in the last page and a half.
Well in total between Xavi/Iniesta it's 1,051 passes. Xavi played all 7 matches and Iniesta 6. Thats all the matches, 90mins of complete concentration. Not just those "brilliant" moments where the final piece (ie a goal) of the jigsaw is completed, it's total focus for all of that time.. I'm tempted to say that Xavi is the key to the whole team and possibly even more influencial, just based on those stats. But, they both play at club level for Barcelona, and it *really* shows that they are a unit, one simply doesn't work without the other. If it was ever possible to share the golden ball, I'd have to give it to Xavi/Iniesta. And anyone who fails to recognise their overwhelming influence in this World Cup is simply a fan of *goals* and not actual football..
They played great.
Take away Villa and Spain doesn't get out of group play, let alone through the quarters or even the round of 16.
You don't have to be "a fan of goals and not actual football" to see that.
Uruguay was lucky to *GET IN* to the World Cup, Forlan damn near carried them to the final game.
Take away Xavi/Iniesta, and Spain lose practically *all* their possession, not to mention the fact that the ball will most likely be in Spains penalty area for over 75% of the match. Then Villa will be sitting up front wondering where his supply is. Of course he scored the most goals, it's *because* of their midfield that he was allowed to. That is where Spain won the World Cup, as I said before.
lol @ people saying he carried Uruguay to the semi... sure he had a great tournament but let's be real, Luis Suarez helped him get it done with his feet and his hands, or else Uruguay would have never made it that far.
Him getting it just shows there was no standout player this tournament like a Maradona or Zidane in tournaments past.
