Saying Iniesta was the best player in this tournament is indeed pretty lol though, there has been absolutely nothing said in the arguments for him to indicate he was the best of this tournament, all you have argued was that Spain's midfield played really well and passed the ball a lot. Its an individual award bro, plain and simple. And no, me being an "ass hole," a "sheep," or "fan of goals" have nothing to do with this, and you making the statement its "a fundamental difference of opinion" doesn't make your opinion any less absurd. Learn how to argue for a specific point.

Theres nothing absurd about it whatsoever. It's simply that passing a ball isn't as glorified as scoring good goals. Your response to an opinion was just plain offensive when it didn't even need to be. But thats your prerogative.

Have to agree here really. You could easily argue that Sergio Ramos had more of an impact than Iniesta throughout the WC. His constant pressure up the wing and excellent distribution in addition to his ability to hustle back and play stellar defense really threw teams off balance.

Honestly there is no doubt Forlán deserved golden ball, and yea i gotta agree with Plow that since Maradona in 86 i havent seen a player carrying a team the way Forlán did.

Not sure if anyone commented but what Holland did after Spain received the medals and cup was great, cheers to them for that.

It's personal opinion, but for me, I prefer to praise *either* of those two players for the 630mins+ of full dedication...

Iniesta played 557 minutes. Xavi did have 636 though. Just nitpicking.

Iniesta completed 72% of his passes. Xavi completed 81% while attempting about 300 more than Iniesta.

Even Ramos completed 81% while attempting about 100 more on top of playing 647 minutes. Both him and Iniesta had 11 shots. Iniesta had 5 on goal and 2 scored. Ramos 4 on goal, none scored. Sergio did all of this playing as a defender mind you, so which is more impressive?

Instead of just calling it retarded, I gave you a few tid bits of info. He scored the big goal, but a lot of other players, even on his own team, contributed far more during the WC as a whole.

Ok, to me it's literally impossible to pick the best player in Spain, you could argue who was the worst or least influential but the reason they won the WC is because they played like a well oiled machine. A single unit performing at an exceptional rate.

If I was to pick my favorite player in Spain it would have to be Sergi Busquets, because he was everywhere making important tackles, getting the ball back to Xavi and intercepting countless passes from the opposing offense. In a big way the reason teams struggled, specially Germany, was because the Spain defense all knew what to do and who to cover and when, and that allowed defenders to add themselves to the attack constantly.

What I am saying is the same way you can argue Xavi/Iniesta are the best unit, I could say the team is shit without Busquets/Alonso, hell nobody has mentioned Casillas, if there was a man that you could argue carried Spain to the Finals and the title it's him.

Definitely agree, they had a tiny bit of struggles, but to see a team that stacked play together that well was damn refreshing. The coaching staff deserves a ton of credit.

I'm still trying to figure out why everyone was talking about Robben and not Sneijder. He scored 5 and was one of their top distributers.

I would respect Robben a lot more if he didn't go to ground so easily. Great player, but could be even greater.

Some if not most, will state I'm only saying this cause I'm Dutch, but I'd say van Bronckhorst played amazing in defense throughout the entire match.

Probably like 5 days late with this too, but I would hope next time Holland will just play football, instead of mortal combat.
