So i watched both Argentina and England today and i must say Messi looked in a different league to Rooney off their performances. You hear people who cant decide whose better when Messi looks just so much better its an easy choice for me. As much as i love Rooney (man united fan ) Messi is far superior.

It's a different style I think. Messi looks fancier on the ball, but Rooney has more basic "put it in the net" style.

That said we didn't see much of Rooney in the game. A lot of the balls went up long to Heskey and Rooney was playing deeper than I'm used to seeing him, thought he was playing midfield at times.
That and the US were quick to close him down when he did get possession, they played a good game. Hoping to see both the US and England make it out of the group.

US will try hard and give any team that underestimates them a run for their money. I can see them getting eliminated by a bigger team but they likely won't make it easy as seen today and in last year's Cup.

Curious to see how far England can make it period.

All the teams so far seem to have problems with possession though. Silly passes, bad touches...don't know if it's the pitch, the altitude, or the ball but the midfield game looks like a tennis match at times.

England players seem to have better technical skills than USA. They usually just dribble past like 1-2 US defenders, while US is just like fumbled at the first dude.

US has a really good chance to go to 1-16 now. If they go as 1st place. They probably can get to 1-8. If they go as 2nd place, they will face Germany. Slim chance.

England played pretty well. They just couldn't finish chances. They had about 5 clear cut chances, 3 of which they smashed right to Howard. Johnson and Lennon destroyed the left side of the US defense all day. Cherundolo was able to get Milner subbed off after 30 and then contain SWP for the most part, which was one of the bright spots for the US.

Would have been an epic goal had Altidore been able to beat Green after embarassing Carragher.

This x100, last good England team that imo had a big chance to win world cup was the one in 1990, Lineker was such an amazing player.
