A little late, but I'm glad we won. Maicon's goal was definitely intentional; it's not the first time he scores like that. Robinho was playing like a monster, Nilmar did really well with the time he had, and Kaka really needs to get his shit together, or gtfo. I'm not too impressed, but at least we got what we played for (3 points), and that's what matters.
People down here are going fucking nuts because North Korea scored, but that's just how most Brazilian fans are. Even if we win, they'll still talk shit, but nobody minds the holidays when Brazil plays. Dead serious too, the whole country stops. Even the banks close; empty streets, etc.
Maicon wasn't trying to cross, but that's what the GK was expecting. Look at how Maicon struck the ball if you have the game DVR'd.. it's pretty clear it was a shot.
Best Youtube video ever... ever. Thanks for that.
It was missing Beckham.
I disagree. You never cling to the post on a crossing attempt, not to mention, no one thought he would get to the ball. The defender didn't even follow him, as the ball was played quite heavy. It was just a superb move on Maicon's part. The keeper didn't have a chance to react, the shot was so fast and within the 30cm x 30cm that it had to be in order to thread through. Until he comes out and says he didn't attempt to score off of that angle, I'm going to have to believe that he intended to do that...
That was absolutely a shot. The goalkeeper did exactly what he should have done, albeit perhaps like... 1/10 of a second early.
There's no way you can anticipate him bending it in from 3 feet off the line 20 feet out like that, spectacular shot indeed.
Next U.S. game is going to be hard for me to watch, even if I hadn't gotten good enough to compete for the job with Howard, I definitely could have been good enough that they wouldn't think twice about resting him with an injury ><

Anyone watching Honduras-Chile? Not the most mouth-watering of games but it's my day off so what the hell. Currently 1-0 to Chile.
I'm watching... very open match, I like.
That should have been a penalty...
I don't think it was, there was barely any contact.
wow lol, nice save by honduras keeper.
Yeah credit to the keeper lol but he should've put that into the net and put the game to bed. Chile look fairly comfortable though they should go on to get a win.
That chilean midfielder, Carmona, is a guy who has played in my town's team for the last two years. I think our chief will sold him overpriced as soon as he can...
Well, that went better than I thought it would. At least we didn't do as Australia yet. Honduran here /
