Will be funny if in order to level a job past 75 you will have to have done genkai 5 for that job.
I. Have. DREAMS.
And yet, none of that has anything to do with them omitting Convert from their "restricted and altered" one way discussion they just had with everyone.
Edit: Actually to be fair, sometimes they allow for things to happen as we all double as "beta testers" in game -- then they go about changing JA or w/e as needed. However I feel there will only be a few jobs that will be able to maximize the use of Convert either way, if left untouched. On top of that it's still a 10 minute cool down.
What?
My WHM, just like my RDM, can easily achieve a near perfect HP/MP ratio...
It shouldn't exactly be hard for any WHM. I don't see how WHM's have more HP than MP (moreso than RDM). My WHM has a higher natural MP pool than my RDM do, so I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at. If anything, it should be easier for WHM than RDM to reach a good convert ration. WHM, like RDM, have access to a lot of HP > MP pieces if you need it (Zenith, for example, although it shouldn't be needed).
WHM have access to Blessed, Marduk, Zenith, Astral Earring, Serket Ring, Ether Ring, Loq Earring, etc. etc. For WHM, you should only really need to use Marduk and Blessed on top of your normal MP gear to reach a near perfect convert pool.
Then again, I can't remember last time I used Zenith on RDM for Convert, either, and I'm Elvaan... It shouldn't be hard for either job to get a convert ratio of at least 1k/1k.
Either way, just because they don't mention Conver being nerfed now, doesn't mean it won't be nerfed. They could release that for us to be excited about the patch and get people to come back to the game, and then come path-day, they reveal Convert as a sub being nerfed. It wouldn't be the first time they neglect to tell us something.
There are simple fixes to that as well. The way I see it, Innin and Yonin could have been helpful fixes to 1-hander jobs, plus maybe hand-to-hand.
All they would have had to do would be:
1) Make Innin work only with Ninjutsu
2) Make Innin's +critical only work while dual wielding. Make the +critical to ranged attacks only work for NIN main
3) Either make Yonin's +enmity only work while dual wielding, or perhaps just remove it entirely
4) Possibly create restriction's on Innin's -enmity
Let's face it- Hasso is pretty overpowering, and Innin still wouldn't be able to really compete with it- But it would certainly help.
Convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert convert blah blah blah blah. Can't you people just shut up and trust that the dev team has thought of this already and is doing the right thing?
Oh wait, LOL.
Also, is that a DRK casting Stunga? (I don't recognize the gear because I don't play melee, but it's got a scythe so...)
He's obviously using Manifestation....
The most surprising part of this thread is that you all have enough issues with maintaining MP that you're actually worried about Convert overpowering/underpowering any job.
Nobody takes damage quickly enough for Convert to overpower WHM
The only fights where they're actually preferable, there are too many ulterior restrictions on how much damage they can produce for Convert to overpower BLM
Unless you're soloing, a SMN isn't going to run out of MP unless you're misplacing your support, and we all know SMN's brand of soloing doesn't rely on bloodpacts
lolBLU
Scholar deals with the same restrictions of both WHM and BLM, depending on the role they're playing
Knowing SE, it doesn't show them getting Stunga, but subbing SCH doing Manifestation + Stun <.< It would be awesome if they do get Stunga, though. But considerign the other image is of a BLM using Convert, I wouldn't put much weight in it.
Hence why I said /SCH is likely to still be superior to /RDM. I've yet to run out of MP on anything as WHM, even if I'm the only WHM available, unless everyone else fails, in which case /RDM likely still wouldn't save you. I've never argued that /RDM Convert would be overpowered; not at all. Its just that most merit parties take RDM because they believe a healer can't keep up with healing unless they have Convert. So I'm excited that perhaps my WHM will start getting more invites now that it get access to Convert, as most people refuse to invite a WHM just because it don't have Convert.
Stunga is pretty awesome (for wanting to die quicker)..and yes...thats Abyss (relic) gear from DRK. Unless I truely haven't seen that gear before ;o
Bitterness aside, they actually do think things through, life of programming you can almost always run into issues when handing your poorly documented code into the hands of another. Everything they did was well thoughtout, just wasn't always executed as well as it could be.
I agree - which is why I hope it'll change. I never said Convert would change "job capacity", what I said was that a lot of people think you need Convert to be a capable Merit healer, which is false. When I seek on RDM I get invited rather fast, but on WHM I can seek for hours and only get invited to low level parties. I enjoy playing as WHM much more than I do RDM, which is why I hope Convert will mean I get invited more. Whether or not Convert is useful to WHM doesn't matter, as others think it is a requirement to be able to heal.
Except this is going to open doors to zerg tactics on things that can't be stunned by simply having backup WHMs spamming C5.
Such as? I know NW Apollyon is kind of a stretch since it's nothing special, but Convert is going to allow the dumbest players to solo that zone with ease. Anything that can be outrun by a BLM is already dead meat without Convert. Its addition is going to make things even easier. The only fights where they're actually preferable, there are too many ulterior restrictions on how much damage they can produce for Convert to overpower BLM
Except with Convert you can actually start relying on bloodpacts for soloing to make things 10x faster.Unless you're soloing, a SMN isn't going to run out of MP unless you're misplacing your support, and we all know SMN's brand of soloing doesn't rely on bloodpacts
lolBLU what? Do you have the slightiest idea of what kind of damage potential BLU/RDM is going to have? Especially considering that it requires no support whatsoever unlike standard melee jobs.lolBLU
Unless stuff is extremely resistant to physical damage and resistant/immune to stun, a party of BLUs is probably going to rip stuff apart by simply spamming big threes and Head Butt to no end.
And scholar is already the only non-RDM mage with nearly zero MP issues. Convert makes it even more broken.Scholar deals with the same restrictions of both WHM and BLM, depending on the role they're playing
Convert is either going to be massively nerfed or to overpower mages, deal with it.
