Meant to bump this the other day, but I really like this game a whole lot more than the first. It really feels a lot more like you're actually controlling the song. Soundtrack is also a ton better, with a lot less emphasis on rap. What's there is good. Could benefit from a bit more techno/trance kinda stuff though. I would kill for some George Acosta

Picked this up today since my local Wally didn't have the RB3 peripherals in stock that I wanted before purchasing that, and DJ Hero 2 was sitting conveniently in its controller+game bundle case, so I nabbed that instead for now.

Didn't like the game that much at first, but after a couple hours in it's starting to grow on me. Music mix-ups are great sounding, and online is solid, will definitely be playing more of that later on. Only thing I can't do is hard difficulty, the crossfade switch fucks me up so much if it's used often in conjunction with multiple/offbeat notes. Makes it a hell lot more difficult to multi-task than other rhythm games, especially when I'm trying to bounce between the effects knob and slider on a normal basis. @.@

Is there a general means of pleasing the game in freestyle sections btw? They actually score you on how you do those sections, and a lot of people apparently don't understand it online either as they score low on those parts. All I try to do is flick the switch into and out of the cut-off parts notated in the lanes.

Probably the only good thing to come out of Activision's music-milking streak lately, game is original and plays well, hope they keep this series up as I don't want this turntable only being good for the one game.
(not going to bother with DJ Hero 1 unless I can find it for $19 somewhere in the future)

They need to patch the filter online... No point in even adding it in if it doesn't match you up with someone playing same difficulty as you. Tired of people leaving/quitting when they find out I'm playing on expert. I can't seem to get matched up with many people doing Expert, ran into a lot of people playing on Hard, but even those guys quit since I have the advantage still by playing on Expert. Well, not 100% advantage, since it depends on song and how good you are.

I'm done with Online till they fix this, it's annoying.

At least you get credit for winning if they quit mid-match. Anyways, is there an input latency online or something? Game keeps thinking I'm letting off on scratching too early, even though I've been doing it the way I have for the last few hours offline fine.

I just wish the online search remembered everything, not just the difficulty. I hate doing star battle, or more than 3 mixes in one go. ;/

Not sure how it is on 360, but the game likes to hiccup once in awhile on PS3, hope they iron that out as you can't have that kinda nonsense in a game that demands precision input.


Enjoying the game a little more now. Kinda liking the convenience of being able to play in my lap, vs. the large peripherals of every other rhythm game.

It's the same on 360, I've seen a few people have same problem as well online sometimes. You could try recalibrating and see if that helps, if it keeps up it might be the Turntable. A lot of people has always had to return their turntables at times due to it being faulty. I've had to return 2 before. I haven't found any problems with this Turntable yet, but not sure if my friend had to return his or not. I still need to get my own copy Still wondering if I should get PS3 or 360 version, not sure how populated online is for PS3 version

My scratches only fuck up online, offline is perfectly fine. Granted I'm just playing on medium for now.

Anyways, I just did a Streak round online, and did a perfect run (got the 100% Mix bonus for my DJ score), but my opponent, on the same difficulty, managed to score a streak of 3 higher, got any idea how the heck he managed that?

I always found jumping straight into Expert was quickest and best way to get better at it, worked for me at least Or at least Hard :D

I'm having a lot more fun with this one than I did the first one

Good luck with those achievements. I'm not even bothering trying to platinum this game, as I lack a 2nd turntable, and some of the achievement/trophy requirements are waaaaay out of my league.

Pretty much same case with me. I'll just go for all the Trophies/Achievements I can get myself, I'll be satisfied with just that. I can probably get them all except the Vocal Trophies/Achievements, and I forgot what else is on the list.

Fair amount of online ones that involve beating X amount of a gameplay mode type, which I'll probably work on. There's one for hitting lvl50, but fuck that, you barely get XP per round unless you do 5 mixes or so.

Beat it on Hard my first play through, then slowly working my way through Expert. I can handle most of it just fine usually, but like I said, those directional scratches are fucking mean.

As for the achievements, I agree to an extent. Some of them are stupid, and I dislike the ones that are worth random integers; like 3GS to calibrate, another 3GS for playing a mix with two turntables and a mic, and then one worth 6GS for some other random bullshit.

DJ Hero 1 pissed enough people off as-is with a 1gs achievement. So glad that isn't a problem on the PS3. Just Bronze, Silver, Gold, and the almighty Platinum, nothin' more. Granted, in the case of DJ Hero 2, a lot of the trophies are definitely a silver trophy-level of difficulty, not bronze.

So... I tried for Superstreak real quick, and damn... This one gonna be pretty tough for me. I was only able to get up 243 hit streak, then I started fucking up. I need a lot more practice than I thought. I wanna blame it on the turntable
